The battery died on my Ford Explorer sport and I don't know why? I Went and bought a new battery, I'm afraid it might do it again.

THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN FOR OTHER REPAIRS THAT HAVE BEEN UNRESOLVED DUE TO EXHAUST. THEY SAID THEY HAD CHECKED SEVERAL ITEMS LIKE THE BATTERY. NOPE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START ONE DAY THIS WEEK 12AUG2014, BATTERY HAD TWO DRY CELLS AND THE POSITIVE CABLE WAS CORRODED.

Took vehicle to McCarty Ford in Alabaster, AL for "THE WORKS" which included oil change and vehicle inspection. report indicated that battery was "OK". Two weeks later, battery went dead. Cables were so corroded that they could not even be removed. Dealership wanted $680 to make repairs and replace battery. I took to local mechanic and he made repairs for $60 plus cost of battery. Seems to be a common problem with Ford, but they will not take responsibility, as usual.
