I keep getting check engine lights and the dealer has diagnosed it repeatedly and it always comes back. Now they are telling me that the problem has caused a failure of both catalytic converters because the problem has gone on so long. I have always brought the vehicle in immediately upon getting the check engine light and they supposedly fixed it, about 4 times. Raw gas has now, apparently entered the converters and "burned them out". I told them that I have brought it in and it was never fixed and they said that I must have driven it for a long time in that condition. New Catalytic Converters: $2,400.00. Oh, and if I don't get the converters replaced, the O2 sensors will fail and have to be replaced.

Taken my explorer in for all my maintenance checkups. It seems like every time I take it to the Ford shop something always go wrong later. Got the P0430 code repaired last year, and now I'm getting the P0420. You would think they would have told me rear was getting bad if it was getting bad. Had Ford for years, but I think it's time to go back to Toyota!
