The contact owns a 2013 Explorer. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel suddenly became very difficult to turn in either direction, with a creaking sound coming from the steering column. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the steering column and rack and pinion was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V286000 (Steering). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 120,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Explorer. While driving at approximately 55 mph, the power steering failed without warning. The contact stated that it became difficult to maneuver the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the steering column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Ferrario auto team (located at 2472 corning rd, elmira, NY 14903, (855) 468-5337) was contacted by phone and stated that there were no recalls. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000.

The failure mileage was 93,000.
