Went out to vehicle, attempted to unlock with remote, lights intermittently flashed and random clicking sounds. Tried to start the vehicle, completely dead. Checked the battery and the positive terminal was COMPLETELY corroded and the 100 amp fuse destroyed. Could not jump the battery, since the 100 amp fuse was no longer functional. Had to replace the positive terminal. After removing, a large split was found on the original Motorcraft battery which was below the positive terminal. Part cost $60, however, Ford parts only listed the full wiring harness which lists at $300, was able to search the part as a Flex part and the positive terminal only is available. Once cleaned up all the corrosion salt, installation was easy and repaired issue. Battery should last more than 3 years.
