Just had the water pump replaced for the 2nd time! First at 57,000 miles, then again at 77,000 miles! Each time the shop has to just about pull the engine to get to the water pump. - horrible engineering. Only the FORD recommended antifreeze has been used from new. This is a one owner vehicle with extensive service records. Also the LCD screen stopped working at 50,000 miles, just replaced the struts at 82,000 for $1000. Heater blend door went bad tt 72,000. - another $1000.

Can someone tell me what idiot moved the water pump from in front of the engine block to the interior of the engine? This is a stupid design. Not only do you have to tear the engine down to get to it but you will have to more than likely replace the timing chain, all of the gaskets and so on. Fords suck and they have for years. They should have allowed the Big 3 to go under years ago. We would probably have better automobiles today. Be fore warned that once this water pump goes out (and I am told that it goes out like clock work at around 100k miles), it will cost you an arm and a leg. This is not to mention all of the other things that have gone wrong with this automible.
