The contact owns a 2016 Ford Explorer. While driving 5 mph, the steering wheel made an abnormal noise without warning. The vehicle was taken to jps Ford (224 gap farms rd, arcadia, la 71001, (318) 263-2084) where it was diagnosed that the steering gear assembly needed replacement, but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,000.
