paint bubbling on hood

I just want the hood fixed. Bubbling topped and hood painted, and a warranty that if problem reoccurs, Ford will take care of it. I have 5 Fords, ranging from 1952 to 2018. I had this problem once before with another Explorer. I don't expect this lack of quality in Ford. The Ford Explorer Platinum cost too much for such issues.

Explorer Platinum 3.5L Ecoboost

I purchased my Explorer new. I paid $2300 to have paint protection film added to the hood, bumper, and various other parts of the vehicle to protect the paint from rock chips and debris while driving on the highway. After a year of ownership, I noticed that the paint on the aluminum hood was bubbling. I took it to a Ford certified body shop. They took pictures of it and said it was covered under warranty. They replaced the hood two weeks later but did not replace or reimburse me for the paint protection film.

To have the film reapplied to the hood, I was quoted $800. I called Ford customer service for help. After weeks of back and forth, Ford determined that they were not liable for an aftermarket paint film that I purchased and had installed on my hood. I feel otherwise, since their poor quality required my hood to be replaced. If Ford had worked with me and had given me something other than the "too bad, so sad" routine, I would have appreciated it and their effort. I've been a long time Ford guy from a Ford family but I feel that I was treated unfairly. They did replace the hood, which was the only saving grace in this story. They did not replace the hood on my Fusion that displayed the same issue and was under warranty.

I bought in my Explorer to where it was purchased and the lady performed a tape test and submitted it to Ford. There are about 6 different spots on the edge of the hood here the paint is bubbling and about to come off one is more significant than the others and that is the one that was submitted. She called back a few days ago and said that it's been approved and that i need to bring it in to have the color match done. I will bring it in when it gets out of the shop for the transmission issues.
