My 13 year old daughter used the remote to unlock the vehicle, climbed into the front passenger seat and closed the door, and immediately the back window shattered and glass fell both inside and outside the vehicle. We purchased this vehicle on 5/28/18 and it currently has less than 6,000 miles on it.
My husband took it back to the dealership and it is at the service center now - he was told that there is a good chance of Ford covering it. In my opinion they absolutely should. Initially we were told when my husband called that it needed to go through insurance and that windows aren't covered in the warranty. My husband was very unhappy and decided to go to the dealership and let them look at it and review it. He was told that this has been an issue for Explorers produced before March. Ours was manufactured in February. Fingers crossed it will be covered.
