Explorer ST

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,900 miles

2021 Ford Explorer ST has significant wind noise that is heard inside the vehicle while driving it. It is coming from the driver side window when it is closed and sounds like wind turbulence over 40 MPH and extremely loud when highway driving over 55 MPH. It was brought to my attention that two plastic black tabs located at the roof of the vehicle behind the windshield could be the source of the wind problem. After placing duct tape down on the roof rack rail near windshield a lot of the noise went away. These two roof rails near the windshield have been reported to Ford in past years with no answer on a solution to fix the noise.

The wind noise has been reported to Freehold Ford with wind noise still happening. When the windows are down, the wind noise is overwhelming, hurting your ears.
