This vehicle is a true lemon. I already replaced the transmission after it failed at 95,000 miles, at the tune of $2500.00. Last week I was coming home and the engine bucked then quit running. I pulled to the shoulder and it would not start. I had it towed to the best shop in my area and after doing the diagnostics he said "its bad news". He said that motor has 2 timing chains and one or both has failed. The fix is a remanufactured engine at a cost of $5400.00.
He stated that he has no idea why Ford engineered the motor the way they did but it is and has been an on-going problem with that motor. He stated that he has 2 Fords at the shop, both with the same motor and same problem.
I can swear to you now that is the last Ford product I'll ever buy. They make a product that is engineered to fail and they just shrug their shoulders and basically say tough sh*t. Chevrolet, KIA, Toyota and others can make a car that will run for 300,000 miles.....why not Ford?
