exact same problem at about the same milage, to check it out remove plug connector at alternator instead of disconecting battery and see if battery still drains

I drove truck down to visit a friend in Boston. Never had a problem before. Next day went to start it and battery was dead. Prior owner had said battery had been jumped a few times so i replaced it. Now after 3 mo the new battery is dead. I had it recharged and after 4 days it was dead again. I was able to jump it after leaving it hooked to jump car for 30 mins. Now every time i drive it i have to disconnect the battery when i get out, and reconnect to drive away. Pain! Anyone heard of this problem. I assume it's a short somewhere but nothing is obvious.
