Truck won't start. Starter is good, battery is good, solenoid is new. Do you think the ignition key is the problem?

F-150 Flare Side 3.8L V8

  • Manual transmission

First it started but was slow to turn over, then every once in a while it wouldn't turn and you'd have to play with it and finally it got to the point that I'd have to worry about whether or not it would start every time I went to start it. Tried replacing the battery first which helped a little (needed a larger battery, who knew), then finally replaced the starter. Replacing the starter is a 15 min job and cheaper than a new battery as well as a common problem among older Fords. Make sure you get a warranty on your starter or you'll be buying a new one fairly often out of pocket. As well go ahead and drop the extra money for a new starter versus re-manufactured one.

Did have problems starting in park and had to go to neutral. Supposedly had a new ignition installed. Same problems until now. Won't start. Put in new battery and no electrical still; won't start or even click. No lights or panel or even dome light. No gauges. Solenoid? battery cables? Starter? Need advice ASAP
