No problems noticed other than slight (new) oil leak on driveway. gauges reported no issues. truck was parked in drive. wouldn't start, just made loud clacking noise. AAA came, said the battery was low and replaced. still wouldn't start. towed to mechanic. he replaced starter. still wouldn't start. he removed starter and tried to hand crank the engine, and it would not turn. he removed plugs to look for signs of water in engine; no sign. Truck is now back in the driveway, pretty useless. we were about to replace it, and now what is it worth???

I bought this truck from my best friend who had purchased it new. I bought it from him on 10-26-2010 and on 5-1-2014 the motor vapor locked and threw a rod. It had 42000 miles on it when I bought it and vapor locked at 87000 miles. I had pampered this truck, kept it garaged, kept oil changed with full synthetic oil every 3000 miles and anything else it needed I did it.
I really liked this truck well till the motor blew up. I thought I was alone in this experience because I went to the Ford dealer and asked if this had ever happened or if they knew of anything like this happening to these 6 cylinder motors and the dealer said my truck was the very first one they had ever heard of hydro-locking. Lies all lies.
I went online and there were hundreds of people with the same issue. And no Ford recall. The dealer told me that as long as Ford does not issue a recall that no one will ever get reimbursed. Ya got to love these guys huh? Hey Ford if your listening send me a check for 5 grand and I will go away. Maybe its time for a class action lawsuit? After this ordeal do you really think i will be buying a Ford in the near future?
