On October 6th 2006, my 1999 Ford F150 caught fire in my driveway. It was not running. According to the Dayton Fire Department, and the Forensic firm that inspected the vehicle, the fire originated at the master cylinder--the exact place that the Ford cruise control engineering defect is located. The vehicle is/was insured, however I use the vehicle for my living. My insurance company will only settle with me for nothing more than blue book value. This doesn't begin to approach the disruption to my life and business. Fortunately, there was no major property damage or loss of life. I have spoken with Ford's legal department and they are refusing to make any accomdations for my losses. I had made a simple and very modest proposal to them to make things right---in fact my request to Ford was significantly less than the losses I have altready suffered. Further, I was asking for a modest accomodation in purchasing a new Ford vehicle; a situation that would kept me as a Ford customer. Ford has treated me like a criminal. If anyone has had a simliar experience, please call me below. Thank you. Matt.
