Vehicle was parked in the driveway and it caught on fire. The fire department was notified, and extinguished the fire. Later, owner L stated that cruise control was not working at that time, and the brake light fuse kept popping. Recall campaign; NHTSA campaign id number : 05V017000 the vehicle had no brake lights.

2000 Ford F-150 VIN# [xxx]. 1) fuses 15 and 27 have blown. 2) the interior heater fan continues on after vehicle is turned off. 3) radio power comes and goes. 4) battery drains overnight. Fuse 15 handles speed control. Is this problem related to NHTSA # PE04078. Problem has not yet been uncovered. Vehicle was parked at 8:30 pm and at 2:30 am neighbor heard loud bang, saw vehicle on fire. Consumer stated that cruise control stopped working about a week prior to the fire. #2/13 and 14 fuses found operating.

The engine rattled on a cold start, which was commonly called a slapped piston, a ground wire was replaced under the hood, and a fuse was replaced for the cigarette lighter.

A light was coming from air conditioner vent. Pulled over and noticed fire under hood. Tried to put fire out, but fire was out of control, and burned vehicle to the ground. Insurance company was called. Technician stated fuse needed to be replaced.
