FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH THE TRITON 5.4 LITER V8 ENGINE, AND REFUSES TO ADMIT THAT THE ENGINE HAS A FLAW IN THE WAY IT IS BUILT.

NOV 3,2004 I TOOK MY 2001 F-150 TO THE DEALER FOR A TUNE-UP AND A FEW OTHER MINOR REPAIRS. I HAD 109,497 MILES. I HAD AN OIL CHANGE, COOLING SYSTEM FLUSH, AIR FILTER CHANGE, SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT AND AN EGR SENSOR REPLACED. ON DEC 8,2004 4,000 MILES LATER, #5 CYLINDER BLOWS, AND THE COST TO REPAIR 1 CYLINDER ($3200) VS A NEW LONG BLOCK($4500) WERE MY OPTIONS. I CHOSE A NEW ENGINE BECAUSE OF A 3 YR/36,000 MILE WARRANTY. HOW CAN THIS CYLINDER BLOW, ESPECIALLY AFTER A TUNE-UP ? COULD THERE BE DEALER ERROR ?

Blown cylinder plugs in #' 4 and 5. very common, If your truck has over 100,000 miles and this has not occurred, you better have your mechanic check it out, because it is sure to blow. Since having the blown plugs, had to have the heads redone, intake manifold gaskets done. and all the coils replaced. Piece of garbage, will never buy another ford in my life. Chevy- Here I come!!!
