While driving on the freeway here in san diego, ca. On Dec. 31, 2018 at 11:15 am, at 65 mph I noticed a car in front of me swerve and before a could Dodge the object I hit it with my left front tire. A delfinity, Dakota, A/T 2, LT265/75 R16. With only 28,880 miles on them. Was not long before my steering became wobbly. After managing to get over to the right side of the shoulder of the road in heavy traffic I observed my tire was flat and destroyed beyond repair. After replacing it with the spare in the rain. I returned home to check for any damage to my truck, but found none. After a call the the pepboys store where I purchased them on Apr. 30, 2013, as well as the road hazard service plan, I learned they do not carry these tires any more. I was offered a different brand tire as a replacement. Can you imagine driving your pride and joy with three tires of one brand and one of a different brand. Unacceptable!! as of now reading the other many complaints about these tires I can only accept them replacing all the tires under warranty.

Two blocks from my residence, I experienced a loud 'boom', tread separation and damage to my right rear quarter panel, fender braces and my exhaust pipe. The tire in question is a goodrich T/a km lt 285/75R/16/122/119/D M + S mud tire. This is a load range D tire with a max of 65 psi. I use 50 psi. The tires were purchased in 2007/2008, and mounted on separate rims. The original equipment and the mud terrain tires were exchanged often.my truck has approximately 40K total miles. If the driving on each tire were divided evenly, each tire would only have 18K miles, at the time of the tire failure. The tires were rotated often. Inflation was checked every week. I chose not to use the road hazard warranty to replace the tire. As it happened on a newly rebuilt street.this tire has a 3 ply side wall and a 5 ply tread. This type of tread separation should not happen. I want goodrich to replace all tires, because I'm afraid to use them. Had this failure happened at highway speed, results could be worse. I have tried to reason with goodrich consumer representatives, to no avail. The tires 'were too old', based on the dot number. Sears wants to only replace 1 tire. I believe the set to be dangerous. The original 2001 tires are very serviceable. I noticed some 59 complaints on 'Consumer Affairs' for B. F. goodrich off-road tires. My complaint will make 60. The ones reported to your Agency numbered in the 70's some the complaints reported serious injury with this type of tire. Their link is: Https://www.consumeraffairs.com/brands/support/. I would hope that you review the complaints, and ask B. F. goodrich to be a responsible corporation, file a voluntary recall and replace suspect tires; at no cost to the consumer. Please inform me of the results of your investigations, along with any recommendations made to goodrich. Thank you.

The family was traveling on us highway 77 about 45 miles North of raymondville on king ranch in 2001 F150 supercrew (lariet). We heard a loud explosion and saw smoke coming from rear tire on passenger side. We had complete tread separation but did not lose air. We were able to drive to crossover to change tires. There was extensive damage to the truck's wheel well, fiberglass fender, and rear panel of truck. According to collision center, it is at least $1800 worth of damage.

About a month later the front passenger's side tire went flat while the consumer was driving. A few days later the rear passenger side tire failed as well. The tread completely seperated from the sidewall on both sides of the tire at high speed. John pierce the Ford dealer service manager agreed that it had to be a faulty tire. The dealer will only replace the tire but will not fix the 750 dollars worth of damage caused by the blowout. My main concern though is the other tires. I was driving this time but most of the time my wife and children are in the truck alone. How safe is that. The service manager also said the tire manufacturer would only honor the prorated warranty and nothing else.

I purchased this vehicle new, at about 10,000 mile I noticed that the tires were wearing very quickly. I brought the vehicle into the dealer and also an authorized bf goodrich dealer and they checked the wheel alignment which they both found to be with in specifications. Both the dealer and the bf goodrich dealer came up with almost the same conclusion. Which is why I am submitting this letter to you. My research on this matter with Ford found the following 1) Ford installed smaller tires on my vehicle then what was indicated on the vehicle description sticker that all new vehicles come with on the window. The sticker indicated that the vehicle have P275/70 R 17 installed but the vehicle was delivered to me with P275/60 tires. Seeing if this was a isolated case I found a different Ford dealer which also installed smaller tires than what was specified on the new vehicle description sticker. I took pictures of this practice which I have. When I confronted the service manager of why these tires are on these vehicles his answer was that Ford uses what they have on hand at the time. The 2nd important finding is that the air pressure that is indicated in the door pillar indicates to use 26 lbs of air in the front tires on my 2001 F 150, according to Ford own information and three authorized bf goodrich dealers that air pressure is not correct and should be within 30 to 35 lbs. I investigated the 2002 F 150 with the same tire size as my vehicle and they have the correct air pressure now stated on the door pillar sticker @ 30 to 32 lbs. The difficulty that I am having and probably many other owners of this vehicle is that bf goodrich will not warranty the tires because they say that I was using the inncorrect air pressure in the tires, when in fact I was only following Ford specifications that was on the door pillar for this 2001 Ford vehicle and which have now changed in the 2002 models without letting the 2001 owners aware of this change. Thank you

Found tire separation on 3 of 4 original tires. Separation was located approx 1/2 from rim and approx 1.5 inches long. On two of the tires the separation was located on the outside and one had the separation located on the inside of the tire. This was the one that concerned me more than the others because most people don't look on the inside of thier tires. These seperations were all noticed when tires where being rotated and balanced. Tires were shown to the local Goodyear dealer who stated that they had never seen a tire seperate at that area of the tire and they would replace at a pro-rated price. I took the truck to the local Ford dealer and the dealership replace all three tires at no cost. The truck is still under warranty.

The consumer states that the discription on the window of car when purchased, said the tires size was P275/70R17 and the tires on the vehicle is P275/60R17 which causes tire to wear down faster. The tires that came equipped with the vehicle are smaller that what the window sticker indicated, the tires are not wearing correctly and the consumer feels that the vheicle is not safe to drive.

From acceleration of 25-50 mph, a severe vibration would occur in front of vehicle. At 70 mph or more rear end would vibrate severely along with a roaring and grinding sound. Vehicle been to the dealer four times, dealer was unable to locate cause of problem. The vibration is extreme to the point that consumer is afraid to ride in the vehicle. The popping sound in the drivers seat feels like the seat is trying to move forward out of the locked position. When consumer purchased the vehicle the vehicle had a noise underneath. It was told to consumer that it was being repaired with a new muffler that had been ordered. At the time the muffler was being repaired the vibration also was worked on. The work did not correct the vibration problem. A service man test drove the vehicle with the consumer and again the vibration presented itself. Four new tires were installed but this didn't solve the problem.
