While driving on the highway my driverside window came crashing down causing me to fishtail into the right lane causing other cars to slam on their brakes luckily no one was hurt. When I called Ford and some other mechanics they said allot of people had the same problem and its probably going to happen again to the other window. But there's no recall because its not a emission or safety problem. "?" windows falling while driving on the hwy not a safety concern. Well im just gonna have to keep paying $400 for window regulators to keep my family safe....

Power window regulator failure on passenger side window of 2004 Ford 150 crew cab. The window fails without warning and falls down inside of the door. This can be a problem if the failure occurs during inclement weather or while driving as it did with my truck. Used a wood brace to hold window up with plastic to cover in case of rain and duct tape until parts arrived. No window visibility and possible theft problems. I park my truck outside at work and leave the work area so I never know what condition my truck will be in or if it will still be there when I return at the end of the day. Until I have the part and time to fix this, I'm not sure what could happen.

Drivers side window regulator failed, window 'fell' while vehicle in motion. Electric window now is inoperable. Ford will not fix under warr, or recall. Part if very expensive and not a re-designed part, still original equip, faulty design. I cannot and willnot put the same type of part back in, so my window has been made to stay in the upright position. I believe it's a safety hazard to not be able to have a functioning window. And there are three other window that could fail at any moment.

My 1 and a half yr old son and I had just pulled up to church. I rolled down the front passenger window to talk to a relative and as I pressed the down button I heard a loud pop. I wasn't sure what the noise was, so I went to quickly roll the window up and check the outside of the truck. As I tried to roll the window up, I realized it was the window that made the pop because the window quickly fell the rest of the way into the truck. As I did not have any other option, my son and I had to drive 15 miles home going 45 miles per hour in the cold February night (I had to bundle him up as best as I could) because there was not another option for us to get home (and the window would not stay up). After research online (and talking to Ford dealers) found out it was the window regulator and quite common in 2004 Ford F150 lariats. I feel this should definitely be a recall because it could be very dangerous if this happened on the highway going 65 - 70 mph! 09/27/10 (63500 miles) - driving in town the rear driver side window just fell down into the window. No Ford dealer in our town we had to drive 45 minutes in the cold of October with a piece of cardboard in the window (that kept moving and causing the window to continuously fall into the truck and having to make many stops along the way). Same issue - window regulator had to be replaced. 04/10/11 (69000 miles) - driving home from church in town the window started to fall into the truck. As this is the third time this has happened, we are 100% sure it is the window regulator! setting up an appointment with the Ford dealer to get it fixed. Researched online, and this has happened to many other 2004 Ford F150 lariat truck owners! again, we are very thankful we were not driving on the highway at 70 mph with our little one in the back in the middle of winter! very unsafe!

The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

I own a 2004 Ford F150 and have had 3 window regulator failures, 2 while driving. The dangerous one was on the drivers side at night during a rain storm. Ford dealer states he replaces 1-2 a week but is not yet a recall. He says it wont get a recall until someone dies. I think it is a known dangerous problem that Ford needs to take care of but wont until a recall is mandatory. Please recall this problem before "someone dies" and "only then" mandates a recall. Thank you for your time.

2004 F150 window regulator and nylon clip defective. 2 of 4 windows have come crashing down scratching the tint and Ford dealer charging out the repair to my extended warranty. These window regulators are obviously defective and the dealer or manf. Has done nothing to resolve. Safety hazard.

The vehicle was not inspected by the dealer nor had it been repaired. This failure occurred on the drivers side window one year prior and was inspected by a dealer who stated that the failure was due to a defective window regulator and needed to be replaced. I have had my second window regulator failure on my Ford F150 2004 supercrew. This auto only has 80,000 miles and this has happened twice in 6 months. I feel this is dangerous and they need to be recalled before someone gets hurt or property damage.

My girlfriend & I were driving our 2004 Ford F-150 on the freeway going about 70 mph when we heard a really startling, loud bang & saw my drivers side window slam down into the door. I thought someone was shooting at the truck or something & swerved into other lanes in a panic. We were almost in a serious accident because of it. After taking the door panel off & seeing all the wire cables hanging there & broken plastic pieces I did some research & found thousands of complaints about the same thing. This is a safety issue for us & others. We were fortunate enough to not be injured or injure anybody else. From what I have read, we should expect it to happen again which really bothers me. We have 3 small children & if this had happened or happens again when they are in the car & we get into an accident, we all could get seriously injured or even killed. This is completely unacceptable & needs to be recalled immediately. Ford needs to be held accountable for putting out faulty parts before someone gets hurt or killed. We know there is a problem, why hasn't anybody done anything about it is beyond me though. And to add insult to injury they are asking over $400 per window to replace with the same faulty part. I'm not positive, but I believe it will happen to my passenger side window soon too because it has not worked right since the first couple weeks I bought my truck, not even a full year ago & its been making noises. Recall immediately please!

While driving around 55 mph, front passenger window fell into the door with a loud slam. Unable to use the window controls to raise the window. This is the 4th different window in this vehicle and final window to go within a year and a half. This is a 2004 Ford F150 supercrew and the dealer states it is the window regulator as was the case in the other window failures. They say the regulator part (small plastic piece) that fails is normal wear and tear, however they no longer make that part, they have changed manufactures and the new part should not do this. The motor and the regulator are still good, however you must purchase both of these in order to get the new plastic piece, which is now an all inclusive part around $200 at dealer.
