I have a 2004 Ford F150 and the passenger side window regulator has broken. Last year about the same time of the year my drivers side regulator broke. I have asthma and it is a health problem for me with the heat and ozone to have to drive with a window down.

The power window regulator/motor on my 2004 F150 crew cab driver side door made a discouraging breaking sound yesterday when I tried to put the window down. I have since learned that this is a rear problem with this vehicle and motor assembly. I have read numerous complaints already filed. Why has not Ford been required to recall these vehicles to repair this problem. I will be taking the vehicle to a local Ford dealer for an estimate but reports indicate that this is going to be expensive. Please add this complaint to all others and maybe Ford should be required to make these repairs. We have trusted Ford to provide a quality vehicle but not our trust is misplaced. Window regulators on my four door 2004 Ford F150. Regulator, which controls window going up and down, fails. Window will not work nor, stay up after failure. Ford dealer replaces regulator at $375 per window, per occurrence. No prior events, to my knowledge, leads up to the failure. You will hear a "crunching" sound when regulator fails and window drops into car door.

Ford F150 front window. About, one year ago our front driver side window failed we had to replace the working mechanism ($350 ), yesterday our driver side passenger side window mechanism stopped working. I really think that for NHTSA to work for the consumer you need to listen to us. This will be another $350 fix. I wonder what you would do if it was your truck or your daughter, wife, or mother?? we need you to look out for us too!! P.S I will be sure to keep the old parts that have to be replaced if you would like it.

Window regulator fail on my 2004 Ford F150 pickup. This the 3rd window regulator that has failed. The dealer charges 380 dollars to replace.

My son and I was driving down the highway in the middle of winter and my drivers side electric window just fell down into the door. I tried to raise the window but all I could hear was the motor running. It was close to freezing temperatures outside and raining pretty hard so I pulled off the road to try and get the window up but had no luck. Because it was raining and I was two hours from home my son and I couldn't make it home so we drove underneath an over pass and waited the rain out. After a 2 hour wait the rain slacked off so we attempted to drive home. We made it an hour down the road and the rain got heavy again so we pulled into a covered gas station. After an additional hour wait we hit the road again. It was a cold and wet ride home but we finally made it. No one was hurt but I constantly had to dry off the steering wheel because the rain water made it slippery.

2004 Ford F-150 a power window regulator failure is a huge safety problem. Because the window regulator fails, the window come crashing down. Some complaints read of the glass actually shattering and falling all over the highway. Others were on road trips out of reach of a repair shop. But worst of all, like myself. It's having children and pets in the vehicle with you while this happens. What if you dog decides to jump" what if you kid gets out of his/her seat? what about children throwing things out the window? what about driving in bad weather and having your view become obstructed by sideways rain or worse? it's also a theft issue. No one knows when it's going to happen and what can you do about. Pray that someone doesn't seize the opportunity to steal your truck? you think your insurance is going to cover you against theft when they would say you were negligent for leaving the window open"

May 26, 2010 front pax window goes down on it own while driving. Window will not come back up noise in door. Same as the rear window in April. Check the internet of possible issue see that the window regulator is breaking on many 2004-2005 F150 trucks.

All 4 window regulators have failed on my 2004 Ford F150 when trying to raise or lower the power window. First one occurred in 2006, 2nd in 2007, 3rd in 2009 and 4th early in 2010. Have fixed the first two at a cost of approximately $600. The Ford dealer gave me an estimate of $750 to fix the two that are broken now.

I have a 2004 Ford F150 and have had to have (2) power window regulators replaced and now the third has failed. Twice the parts failed while driving on the highway with my kids in the car. Ford should be forced to recall the item and refund any dollars spent previously repairing them.

Two weeks ago I was driving home from work across the monitor merimack bridge tunnel in hampton roads Virginia at 58 mph and the rear window began to go down without the control switch being used. It startled me and I swerved over and almost hit the car beside me. I had to get it repaired and it cost $454. This morning I was driving to work in the rain and the same thing happened to the right passenger side window and now it will not go up. The parts must be defective because I have only had that window down three times in six years and I have never had the rear window down that broke at first.

Windows fell into panel of truck door, due to defective window regulator installed in 2004 F150. This is not very safe for anyone in the car or other cars driving near your vehicle. This happened to the drivers window in October of 2009 and now in May 2010 on both passenger side windows within 2 days of each other.

The driver side window regulator broke while rolling up the window so that the window cannot be rolled back up. The regulator can be replaced at a cost of around $350-$400.

2004 F-150 lariat.......driving down the road @ 55 mph and it sounded like a rock hit my rear window. I swerved and thankfully no one was next to me. Then I started hearing the wind in the back seat and I looked back and the window was open half way. When I pulled over it fell in the door so I had to drive it home the way it was. That was when I had 38,352 miles on it. The second time I was washing the truck and moved to the passengers side and opened the door and the drivers window fell in the door. How humiliating and unsafe. The date below is the last time it happened. Ford should recall these trucks and replace all for window regulators.

Driver side window suddenly stopped working and dropped down into the door. Loud sound and sudden rush of air from the open window is a startling and dangerous distraction from driving. There are numerous instances on internet chats and forums of sudden malfunction of the window mechanism in the 2004 Ford F150.

I own a 2004 F150 Ford pickup, I have had to replace the window regulator 2 times in 1 year. This is a serious issue, when the regulator breaks the window just comes crashing down. Ford Motor Company has not recalled or done anything about this problem and come to find out there have been hundreds of consumers with the same problem. It appears the plastic clip in the regulator is what breaks, unfortunately the clip cannot be replaced so each time a complete regulator must be purchased the cost has been $400 each time. This is ridiculous!!! any help on your part would greatly be appreciated.
