My husband has a 2004 F150 and in September of 2008 he heard a popping sound in the passenger window - shortly after that... the window fell abruptly down into the door. This was a costly repair and I felt it was a safety concern at that time, but took it to just be a fluke of some sort. Well a few days ago on May 27th, 2009 he heard the same popping sound, this time coming from the drivers side window. To my disbelief the same thing happened again to the drivers side window - the window fell abruptly. This time I decided to search the web for a re-call and found numerous complaints from people about the same exact thing. This is not only a safety issue and the parts should be re-called immediately before someone gets hurt.

I have a 2004 Ford F150 supercrew and the rear driver side window just fell down and when I got it to the shop to have it worked on the driver side front window fell down as well. They said it was the regulator on the window that broke. This truck only has 37,500 miles on it and the windows are not used that much. I am afraid that before long the other two doors are also going to have this issue and once again I will have to go and have it fixed and Ford will not own up to the fact that they have defective parts in the door window assembly.

Three of the four power windows in my 2004 Ford F150 have had experienced window regulator failures while driving. All three have occurred in the past year. The vehicle has never had an accident and there is no reason the regulators should have failed from regular use. I checked with Ford and there is no recall despite the fact that there is an obvious defect in design to lose 3 out of 4 window regulators.

It can happen at anytime and I hope it isn't monsoon season like it is for me when it happens. I was just rolling up my window and when it reached the top something snapped. The window slip back down into the door. This isn't the first time or the second, this is the third time around. Check out any web site on Ford trucks and this will be the top complaint. Some may say that the door windows aren't a safety issue, only issues involving the windshield. For me the safety issue is theft, I didn't buy the truck with an alarm system for nothing. So, when the window pops and you can't roll the thing up I'd say there's a safety issue. Driving in the rain with a make shift garbage bag window isn't so safe either. My aftermarket warranty paid for the fix the first two times, but a haven't had the pleasure of informing them that it's happened for a third time in two years. I'll be sure to mention the website complaints to them as well. I know there are a lot of angry Ford truck owners out there that would appreciate if this safety issue was taken seriously. I know that Ford has bigger problems right now, but with the amount of complaints I've seen about this issue there should be some inquiry to a safety recall.

2004 Ford F150 window hazard / broken I was driving on interstate 15 when all of a sudden the window collapsed... simply falling down into the door. I attempted to roll the window up, but window will not roll back up. My 1 1/2 year kid was getting pounded with wind. When I got home, I removed the door panel to find what looked like a wound up spool of fishing line. Instead it was the window regulator that had failed. The very next day, today May 18, a second window gave out while driving on milliken ave in Ontario!!! this is very dangerous and scary event when your traveling 70 mph and the window falls! Ford really needs to take a look at this design and fix the problem!! recall.

Ford has failed to provide a correct replacement under warranty. This poor quality item effects all F and E series vehicles from 2004 to 2009. Ford should issue and pay for a recall to replace these units.

Bought this truck used with no warranty. Within 1 year, 3 of the windows in my 2004 Ford F150 have slid down into the door with me being unable to roll it back up. The first two times it cost ~$350 each time. I am now saving up money to fix it a third time. This third time, it happened to a window that was fixed last year, making this the second occurrence for that window. I have read numerous customer complaints about this defect. Please make Ford recall their trucks so this can be resolved once and for all! I am broke and driving around with a shower curtain wrapped around my car window in a red neck southern town! I cannot see out of that window! I can't afford to keep fixing this window with the economy the way it is and I'm out of a job!

2004 Ford F150 window track failure. The driver's side front window regulator/track broke causing the window to fall into the door. Within 6 months of that time, the driver's side back window failed in the same manner, less then 6 months later the passenger side front door window failed as the previous 2 windows and within another 3 months, the passenger side back door window failed in the same manner as the prior three windows. Obviously, this is the fourth window track that has failed. Each time the failure happened while driving. The only alternative offer by Ford Motor Co. Was to pay a dealership to replace the window track.

I purchased my truck used from the local Ford dealership when it was three years old, it was a certified used vehicle. Roughly one year later the driver window fell into the door and when I pressed the switch to put it back up, I heard a grinding noise come from the electric motor and the window did not budge. It cost me roughly $400 dollars from Ford to replace it. This past weekend I was driving along and the rear passenger window did the same. I had my dog in the back seat of my truck and when the window fell my dog went straight for the window. Luckily I grabbed him before he got any closer to it. Thank goodness it was not a small child. This is a huge safety factor and Ford should stand behind their product better and recall these problems because apparently this is a big problem. If a child gets hurt because of this problem the law suit will cost much more than if Ford just recalls all the problem. Thanks.

We have a 2004 F150 with 30,000 miles on it. Our front passenger window fell down while we had it parked at the airport for 3 days so no one was touching it and it was closed. We could not pick it up so when we got home we got the window up. We can not roll this window down and have it up with tape. We were told that it is not covered and has not been recalled but there have been many complaints according to the website autobeef.com. We have not fixed this problem because it is going to cost us $400 and we do not have that kind of $ to fix something Ford is responsible for.

April 23 2009 driver window went down with out warning while driving my 2004 Ford F150 super cab with 8? bed with 40000 miles on it. The window regulators plastic cable retainer broke releasing the cable and the window. While searching the internet I found out that this is a common problem and that Ford has changed the part and part number 3 times trying to fix the problem. This was a great distraction while driving and could have been a safety issue had pets been on board or if items had blown out the window.

I have a 2004 Ford F150 and I have had nothing but problems with the windows. I have had 3 of my window regulators go out on this truck and its only 5 years old. I feel this a major problem with these trucks since I know I am not the only person who has had this same problem. First I hear a loud bang in the door (even when I'm not operating the window) and then the window drops. This is a safety concern since I have children, and for safety of the truck itself. I'm afraid that if im at work or school that this will happen and the truck will be vandalized or stolen.

Ford lariat F150 while visiting a friend on April 20th, 2009, my truck was parked in driveway, windows all up & doors locked. When I got ready to leave, driver window was down and it would not go back up. Ford dealers already closed, I drove home. Had other window problem with rear sliding window not working, but always worked when took in to dealer while under warranty. Doesn't work at all now. Windows seem to be a big problem for Ford on their trucks. What will it take a window dropping down and shattering and someone getting hurt from it or cause a serious accident.also defeats your purpose of locking it up, if the windows are going keep falling down. I will be surprised if I get any kind of response to this. I figure, like most, it will be looked at then thrown out. Will have to take to the dealer in the morning. I feel Ford should be responsible for this, since it has been going on for several years with this year of truck.
