Just replaced my back passenger window motor/harness and now my front passenger window has done the same thing a month later. I have twin boys that I take with me on a regular base just a safety hazard I thought that would have or should have a recall. Happened in my Ford 2004 F150 FX4. The thing is I barely use the windows and I was on the highway my window just falls down thank god. My kids weren't with me. Not safe and sounds like a lot of people have complained about the same thing on blogs and forms that I have read. Also it cost almost 400 bucks to have it fixed ever time it happens not a cheap fix for a father of two. So im at 800.

The window regulators failed on 3 of the 4 windows on our 2004 Ford F150 truck causing the windows to fall abruptly and drop down into the door panels. The windows no longer stay up at all and there is no way to prop them up internally. The windows now leak when it rains. You cannot go over a pothole, bump or even go the speed limit on the highway without the windows falling down again.

I have had all four window regulators go out on my 2004 Ford F150 truck. This is ridiculous that there has not been a recall because they are obviously defective. Tons of people are going through this and I am fed up with driving with two broken back window that fall down when they are not taped up.

Date of incident: 1/20/2011 vehicle: 2004 Ford F-150 complaint: Passenger window suddenly descended into door and shattered. Driver side window had this issue in August of 2010. Replaced by dealer at my cost (approx $400). Internet search showed over 1000 complaints on this issue and no recall from Ford. This is a potential safety issue and needs to be addressed by Ford!!

Power window regulator failure. Plastic part cracks that is attached to the regulator motor which guides the window cable. Resulting in the window dropping down inside the door panel. Failure occurs approximately every 6-12 months. Failure has occurred in all four doors. New replacement window regulator is required to repair the problem.

I have a Ford F150 since new and continue to have problems with my windows - this is a 2004 FX4 model crew cab / with P/w. I have installed three power window switches now and today had my right rear window fall open when driving - with a very loud crash / bang noise - I thought someone hit me in the next lane and almost swerved to avoid a empty lane / I could have hit someone else or caused injury / this problem is very common I am finding out and yet Ford wont help....if someone dies then maybe....

I have a 2004 Ford F-150 lariat supercrew 4 door truck. Each of the past 3 years I've had 3 window regulators break. To the day they are still not fixed because of cost issues, almost $200 each not including the $140 labor bill. What breaks is the plastic part that the cable is connected to. The first 2 window regulators broke quietly while the 3rd one made 2 loud pops and the window fell down. It is now winter and I hope the 4th and final window doesn't break. The Ford service department told me they are sold as a whole unit, motor, track and cable. The motors don't go bad, the plastic piece in the track breaks. Currently I have plastic pvc pipe propping the window up on the 3 windows. Very much an inconvenience when you drive up to a drive thru window and never know when your windows going to give out.

This is unbelievable that Ford can get away with these junk regulators on my 2004 Ford F150 supercrew !!!!! my daughter was looking out over the rear window holding on to it, and laughing at me while I was washing the truck when the [xxx] thing just broke causing her to fall and hit her face off the door panel !!! then I go online and find 1000's of complaints that Ford won't do anything about, so now I have to repair this at my own expense. Ford needs to replace these before someone else gets hurt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2004 Ford F-150 power window regulator fails on both windows. One failed while I was driving and the other failed while the truck was parked. I understand there are allot of complaints of this happening but, yet you have not forced Ford to correct this problem.

I own a 2004 F 150 4 door supercrew and all 4 windows regulators have failed on their own. I had three fail within days of each other about a year ago. Now, today the fourth one failed. Each time one failed I was driving down the highway at 65 mph and the window slams down scaring the heck out of me. Luckily I've been able to maintain control of my truck. The problem is always the steel cable gets kinked up on its own and snaps or kinks up so bad it can not be reused. Each time its a 300 dollar fix so when I replace this last one I'll be about 1200 dollars out. I finally looked on the internet and found out that this problem is common and Ford will not own up to their responsibility. I don't know it this is a design flaw by Ford or the supplier to Ford that makes the window regulator but I do know there has been no recall and that you cannot buy the parts you need except at Ford parts dealers only. Since Ford doesn't seem to care to fix this problem I am never buying another Ford.

I have lost 4 window regulators over the space of 2 years. I have replaced the drivers front, pass front twice pass rear once. I currently have a broom handle holding up drivers rear. This has gotten very old and tiresome. I worked for Ford dealerships for 27 years and I am very disappointed with the apparent disregard of quality is job 1.

Three of the four window regulators have broke causing safety and security issues. The parts are expensive and defective. The malfunction occurs when driving down the road or even when the vehicle is parked. We hear a popping noise like somebody threw something at the truck and then the window falls into the door. We have three young children and this poses a large safety risk to them. These parts are obviously defective and should be replaced by Ford Motor Company for free.
