have owned 1973,1978,1979,1985,1990,1999,2004,2005, ford products.bought the 2004 f150 new.all road miles working as insurance adjuster, computers ,printers, equipment in back seat.have had 5 window regulator cables snap, windows fall anytime day or night. come out of motel window will be down raining equipment will be wet . or riding down road 20 degrees with window down. it is real bad ford has not had a recall to fix problem.but i can fix the problem next time i buy a new vehicle.all the other fords i owned are great. too bad ford has not had a recall

Ford needs to recall their window assembly. The plastic clip holding the cable is what broke.

This is the third window regulator to fail in the last 3 years. I have had no other problems with the vehicle so, I chalked up the first occurrence to crap happens. The second incident I was to busy to investigate so I just repaired it. Now on this third occurrence I searched the internet to find, to my surprise, that this is one of the most common complaints with the 2004 F150.....and the dealer parts guy said "This is a rare item, we never see it"! Although I am very happy with the truck, this concerns me.

Had just parked my vehicle, and heard a loud bang. Front right window had fallen into door. Had to drive home 45 miles with window down. As soon as I arrived home, driver's side rear window fell into door!!! I was freaking out! How weird for this to have happened to 2 windows on the same day. Googled problem and discovered what a wide-spread problem this is, and NO RECALL from Ford! I really freaked out when I found out how much the repair was going to cost me! $587.00. I am very upset with Ford. Female F-150 driver!

I am NOW having to change the 3RD OUT OF 4 window regulators within 8 months!!! Highly DISGUSTED with this problem FORD! FORD, STEP UP TO THE PLATE! Living by your motto, huh? Ford saying "tough" about this problem!!! Female F-150 Driver that is extremely upset!!!!!

Sitting in line at the car wash and heard a loud noise looked out my passenger side window and it was gone. The window fell inside the door and would not roll back up. I took it to the shop and they said $260.00 now i see a lot of people with the same problem and no recall. I always liked ford i hope they do people right on this matter.

Ford sucks. I'm pissed because this is the 5th (yes 5th!!!!!) time this has happened. All four window regulators and motors have been replaced. This is BS that ford doesn't think this is a problem. Also the ever prevalent door locks being punched in on FORD Trucks!!!!!!!!!! Nothing being done about it. Except FORD making $$$$$$ off selling the parts to fix the $600 door lock damaged by a loser thief. Makes me never want to buy a Ford again.

Recently had my driver side automatic window regulator break on me. This is a culmination of all 4 window regulators having broke on me in a 7 year period. (all 4!!) . 2 of the regulators simply popped/broke as i was driving (window was not being actuated up or down at the time) i have replaced them myself and they have run anywhere from 150.00 to 180.00 bucks each..... good to hear that someone has a youtube video out there.

Same problem as most other 2004 F-150 owners. Window fell down to the inside of the door on the way home from work tonight. I'm going to replace the window regulator myself. There are some good instructional videos on Youtube. It's crap that Ford hasn't fixed the problem.

My Ford truck's window regulator went out. Driver side window just dropped into door after rolling it up. After reading how many times this has happened to so many customers, I'm nearly certain to not buy Ford again. Maybe they'll step up and cover the clear design flaw like a responsible and respectable company that they claim to be, and have been on many other design flaws.

This was the first window regulator to go bad on the truck. Cost to fix it was around $400. After researching the internet I discovered what seemed to be a growing problem nationwide with Ford's regulators on the 2004 F-150 model. The local dealer wasnt much help when I explained this.

Rear window also leaks. I have had this truck 4 years and I am replacing the third window regulator right now. It has been a different window each time. Ford needed to issue a recall a long time ago. If you make a product stand by it!! Just because you outsource the supplier doesn't mean they are to blame! It just shows you put the bottom line in front of the one the consumer has to stand in! I won't but another Ford because of this incredible expensive part that was designed to fail in the first place. Stop gouging the consumer for your incompetience. And yes, Ford this is a safety issue/problem.

Previously had to replace Window Regulator for all 4 windows. Today driver rear window failed while down and will not roll up. Very upset as I think this same window was repaired in May 2011 by original dealer. First repeat issue for me. This sucks. Last repair for this cost over $330. Between this, the brakes, and the spark plugs FORD really screwed the pooch on the 2004 F150 version.

This is the second window regulator that failed within a week...same exact part, different window...wow!! As soon as I get this fixed, I guess I just have to wait for the next two to fail....Ford are you listening?

I have now had to replace 4 out of 4 window regulators which is completely ridiculous. The Ford service advisers claim this is not a known issue but I knew it had to be as its quite obvious FORD chose to use faulty parts when constructing the vehicle. I emailed Ford to complain only to be told they are sorry but there is no current recall and I would have to cover the cost yet again on my own. Now I see how much of an issue this really is and I should have never invested my money into such an irresponsible company. So much for supporting American made cars...I will NEVER purchase another Ford again.

This is the second window that has broken and now it is the drivers side window. This is crazy someone has to do something about these windows are we are going to have to get lawyers involved.

This is the first window regulator I have replaced on my truck. I have read about other folks having this problem, but did not think it was a big deal. This happened last week, and the reason I'm writing this today, is because today another one of the regulators (different door) failed as well.. What the hell?? I replaced the first one myself, and I just took out the second one, it is the same damn part that failed...small white plastic block where two of the guide wires connect....I will post the second complaint as soon as I get home and take a picture of the part....didn't realize I could post pictures here. Hopefully you guys at Ford are reading this and if nothing else reimburse us for the parts. The fix is pretty easy, just annoying as all heck.
