F-150 Lariat 5.4L V8 Triton

  • Automatic transmission
  • 46,000 miles

All 4 of my windows failed within the span of 1 week also the rear automatic slider failed.

I paid for the first drivers side front window which cost me over $300. That same day the passenger side failed the next day I went to my truck and the passenger back window had fallen in the door, 2 days later the rear drivers side window failed as well as the rear slider. The dealer paid for the labor but the parts still cost me over $1,000! This is not fair as Ford sold me that truck with the impression it had an implied warranty and only after I threatened to sue did they agree to pay the labor.

I have had Ford vehicles all my life, an Escort, Ranger, Explorer and an F150. I bought my F150 new and had 65K when the engine failed. I am flabbergasted! I changed the oil, using synthetic oil from Mobile 1 or Syntec, ever 5000 miles. I had the standard 6 year 60K warranty and it expired in July 2010. Of course the engine would fail after the warranty expired. During the warranty period I had to send my POS in for a 4x4 gear box problem, transmission service, an unexpected falling passenger front window that cost me $400 to replace because it wasn't covered under the warranty and failing ignition coil. After the warranty expired another ignition coil failed. At 65K my truck developed a severe valve tick. Maybe the Ford engineers didn't do enough stress testing on their 2004 engines. Maybe Ford doesn't give a sh*t and just put a POS out on the market knowing that people would buy their product because of their reputation of Built Ford Tough "BULLSHIT". Maybe Ford bought materials or parts from sub standard sources just make more profit. All I know now is that I regret buying this hunk of sh*t and that I am forced to pay $6000 for an engine that should have lasted 3 times longer. Of all the times for a vehicle to experience catastrophic failure, "CHRISTMAS EVE" I broke down on the highway and barely got the truck out off the road. All I heard were the sounds from top part of my engine disintegrating. I plan to follow up and make additional complaints to the appropriate federal, state agencies and consumer advocacy groups. Someone suggested on another engine failure complaint that a class action suit should be filed. I'm game!!! This problem needs to be addressed before some gets hurt or killed when another engines fails in heavy traffic or bad road conditions.

  • 93,500 miles

Bought the truck used. Within a few months (no warranty - bought it at 80,000 miles) one window fell down. Had it fixed for 350.00. Within the past year two other windows fell down and yesterday I rolled down only remaining working window and now it won't go up! Ford says there are not enough complaints for recall, suggested I have everyone who has had this problem call ford customer care at 1-800-392-3673 to complain. They say that is how to get a recall. If you have it fixed and save receipt and ford has recall, they will reimburse you the cost of repair. CALL EVERYONE!!!! LET'S GET A RECALL FOR THIS FREQUENT COMPLAINT!!!!!

I have a 2004 Ford F150 with 42k miles. This is the fourth window failure on this vehicle. The driver side window 2 times, right rear window once and now the left rear window. What are the chances of that happening. I called Ford and they state there is no recall so they can not assist me. Two were under warranty and the last two are out of my pocket at $480.00 each. The dealer that I purchased the vehicle from, who services my vehicle are not willing to discount or help in anyway.

The window of my F150 just fell down into the door. The driver door window was first. Then front passenger window then fell into the door on 7-21-09. The last one to break was the passenger rear window on 11-23-10. The total cost to fix all three windows was $1010. My neighbor has the same truck and he has had to replace two of his windows. The assembly needs to be beefed up in some way.

Dealership acted like he had never heard of this issue. I told them this was very widespread. Not a clue. His response was that I had to call Ford for a recall issue. Called Ford, told to call dealership. Bottom line is this is my 3rd of the 4 windows out within 2 years. Ford doesnt give a crap about this issue as it generates dealer service revenue and is not as serious a safety concern to them as the lights or gas tank issue they do have recalls for on this vehicle. By not caring about their CUSTOMER, this is the last Ford I will own. And Ford knows about this site, and what are they doing about it? Enjoying the 300 dollar service revenue off of a 100 dollar part. I was told it would cost 4-600 dollars to fix at dealership. Even to private company it is going to cost me 365.00. Awesome Xmas gift to myself.

First it was the rear passenger side window. One week later it was the the rear drivers side window. Fourtunetly one of my employees was able to fix both of them for me and since I gave him one hundred $ for the first one I gave him the same for the second. Still much cheaper than what the dealer wanted.

I found this site and I can't believe how many people have the same problem and Ford hasn't made a recall. This is bullchit. It was a pain in the butt trying to get the inner door off and then trying to figure out what was going on with it. I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend fixing the window on the door of my truck. I guess that I am going to have to use either tape or vice grips tp keep it up. FORD YOU NEED TO MAKE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM!

I pulled out of my driveway this morning and attempted to lower my passenger window. A loud 'thud' ensued and the window fell into the door with a loud shatter at the end. I could hear the motor functioning along glass shards.I dropped off at Ford to have the window regulator replaced.

I had the same issue back in August of 2010 on the driver side window. After paying $500 back then to replace I was told that I have to pay it all over again since it was a different window. I am afraid to lower my rear windows, I will be out another grand!!

I did some searching online and saw the multitude of issues this part has had in 2004 and 2005 F-150's. I filed a complaint with NHTSA and also noticed that they petitioned Ford to have a recall on this part.

Apparently Ford is too tight pocketed to do that. They had better think long term though, I am sure if this happens much more they will have a class action lawsuit on their hands.
