Well cared for with body in great shape - now unsafe to drive because of frame rust. Only 70K miles!

Last fall I had the bed off the truck to repair the cab corners and rocker panels that rusted through. I cleaned the rear frame and painted it.
Today 5/20/2015 I got underneath the truck using a air operated needle de-scaler to de-scale the rest of the frame. As I worked from the front to the middle of the truck I discovered the inside of the frame on the passenger side and next to the gas tank on the drivers side had rusted clean through in several areas of about 2-3 feet on both sides. It's a shame because I took great care of this truck and never thought the frame was rusting out.
To date I've spent $15,724 (kept a spreadsheet) on repair and maintenance of this truck in the 10 years I've owned it including 3 grand last year to repair the known body rust issues. If you own a F150 check the frame often. There are a lot of factory holes in the frame all along it's length for winter road chemicals to get in and slowly dissolve the metal from the inside out.
Nothing last forever but I was surprised and hating Ford right now.

I am sick that my 2005 Ford F-150 with less than 113,000 miles can not pass state inspection because the frame is rotted and rusted. This is reprehensible that these trucks were not recalled. I see other trucks going back to 1995 with 300,000 miles for sale without this problem at all ! This is a disgrace and I am sure the price to fix will make this truck uneconomical to fix. Ford is supposed to make tough commercial grade trucks? Really? This truck was used lightly for home use and can't even get to 113,000 miles without the frame rusting out?? I will never buy a Ford truck again, that is for sure!
