F-150 XL 4.6L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

The brake light on the dash stays on all of the time. I read that this is a common problem with the 2005 ford f150. The truck should be recalled and Ford should pay to fix this. There is nothing wrong with the brakes. Fluid is good. Replaced the rotors and pads. But the brake light stays on.

My mechanic told me it was not a safety issue and that this is common with Fords. Brake system in perfect condition and brake fluid had been flushed. Problem is that in Massachusetts you will get a rejection safety sticker unless the flukey light disappears. Checked all the usual sensors, low brake fluid sensor and parking brake sensor and these are not broken. Don't know where to look and I refuse to take it to a Ford Dealer to get ripped off with unnecessary cost and repair. Anyone else have this idiot lite problem and can advise, please contact or post here. THANKS!

Brake light came on after I had an oil leak repaired. Took back to dealer to have checked at least three times. They could not find the problem or figure out why the light is on. The dealer has check the sensors, put new parts in at no charge to me, but light still goes on and off.

Please Help!!

Thanks
