My wife and I also have a Tacoma and Lexus CT200H. In all my years of life (which is 62), I have never seen a company that would do anything to save a buck and lose valued customers.
Ford knows they have issues with these transmissions. I have a 2005 sitting here that looks brand new, and I can't drive it without worrying if I'll make it back home. Last evening we were looking online at the Ford Escape, nope, after thinking of what Ford has done to help us with this issue, forget it.....sadly, I don't ever seeing myself or my kids or their kids, kids another Ford. They need to step up and recall all these trucks and do the right thing. At least when Toyota found out the frames were bad on all their 1996-2000 Tacoma's, they recalled them and fixed or bought back the vehicle. They also extended the warranty on the Tacoma an extra 15 years should the frame ever rust through. If that did happen, Toyota will purchase the truck back at 1 1/2 times book value. Now that's a car company you can count on.
rants over.

I used to be a Ford fan. My 2005 F-150 Supercrew was my 3rd love (wife and son). Overdrive was lost in the West Virginia mountains. I turned it off and it never came back up. After researching everyone elses issues, I am sad to say Ford really dropped the ball on this. They have lost my loyalty regardless of the fix. Next truck will be foreign as they are the only ones who care about keeping their customers happy. Hope Ford is satisfied.

I checked online to see if anyone else have been having the same problem and there's been a lot of Ford trucks having it. My problem is the o/D LIGHT keeps blinking off and on in the dash and when it's put in drive it have a hesitation in shifting into passing gear. According to the other complaints there are wires in the steering gear that could be rubbing up against something in the steering column.
Ford should back up their product instead of trying to cover them up. I know they know about all of these complaints on the same problem.
