This problem is likely the beginning of transmission failure. I bought the truck used and who knows what was done to it but this is the first Ford (out of eight) that I've had a transmission fail. I guess from other posts that this is a 2005 production problem with Ford that they will not address-next truck will not be a Ford.

Transmission shudders in 4th gear during gradual acceleration. And clunks from a stand still when you start to accelerate.

2005 ford crew cab 130000 miles second tranny and its going out. started doing whats known as the ford shudder before the warranty was out. i contacted my local ford dealership and was told that even though the truck , repair and warranty was in the system i could not be helped because i could not locate the paper receipt. now the warranty has expired and i am up sh*t creek. so i figured for every 10 people i tell my ordeal one or two my take it as a warning. so far i have convinced 4 people out of wasting their money and time on ford. if you know your product has a defect man up! maintain your customers!

TRANSMISSION CLUNKS OFTEN AFTER ENGINE WARMS UP. DOES IT VERY OFTEN WHEN USING AC.
ALSO TRUCK HAS STALLED IN TRAFFIC SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF THROTTLE BODY. FORD REPLACED IT FOR OVER $500.00. IT STARTED STALLING AGAIN A FEW YEARS LATER, THIS TIME HAD IT CLEANED AND IT FIXED THE STALLING. (FOR NOW). EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT NOW I WONDER IF THIS IS THE DAY IT STARTS STALLING AGAIN. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM.
I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL I GET RID OF MY 2005 F150
