We purchased four new tires hankook kontrol P255/65 and drove the truck less than a week and the side wall belt in the tire had a blowout no rough driving, no excessive driving just to and from work on a clean highway with no debris. This almost caused a wreck on the highway and he was able to steer the truck into the ditch as it could have been a lot worse on a two lane high way that had a lot of traffic. The vehicle was in motion on hwy 53 in joliet, il driving straight South and there was a large bang noise and the tire was completely flat with a belt blown on the inside of the tire. Would like to see a recall before this kills someone. Was told by be dealer that it would not be warranted as the tire was used a few days and they are hard to deal with when it comes to a warranty issue

Had what appeared to be a slow leak in rear tire. Took it to les schwab tire and they found it was a weld that was failing in the original stock rim. The split was approximately 8 inches long. I then spoke to a local Ford dealer who denied ever hearing any knowledge of such a thing and simply said you cannot believe everything you see on the internet after I had googled the issue. He said Ford takes these things very seriously but that this was something brand new. He kept insisting a 13 year old truck will have issues and that I should look at their new ones...even though the internet had all ages of rim issues related to the F series pickups

A wheel stud, Ford P/N yl3Z 1107 ab, on the right front wheel/hub assembly would not tighten to the prescribed 150 ft-lbs torque because it stretched. The wheel stud stretched 0.044" before I stopped trying to torque it up to specification. The wheel stud and nut were replaced. The vehicle was stationary. There was no accident or incident involved. I believe that either Ford has overstated the tightening torque or there is a materials and/or heat treating defect. The wheel stud appears to be zinc plated. The wheel bolt torque of 150 ft-lbs is listed in reference materials as the tightening torque for plain, unlubricated M14 class 10.9 steel fasteners. The tightening torque for zinc plated M14 fasteners is about 20 ft-lb less.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. While driving 40 mph, the two front wheels on the vehicle seized without warning. The contact stated that the failure occurred on at least eight occasions. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and provided case number: Cas12702472. In addition, the contact cited NHTSA campaign number: 08V208000 (service brakes, hydraulic) as a possible cause of the failure. The failure mileage was 230,000.

The tire landed on the highway however remained attached from the lower assembly. Due to the momentum of the vehicle was able to get across the highway to prevent a collision. Vehicle was towed to an automotive repair center. The right front upper control arm assembly was completely rusted through

Hubs grinding, vibrating and slowing truck down. Had to replace both too soon for a vehicle like this. And the brake master cylinder went out at a stop sign with no warning then shut the truck off completely.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 45 mph, the front driver side wheel exhibited signs of failing. The contact discovered that the tire was going flat and added more air. The vehicle was then taken to a local tire shop where the contact was advised that the front driver side wheel was fractured. The local repair shop replaced the tire with a spare and the vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 65,148 and the current mileage was 65,200.

My Ford F-150, 2005 model has a wheel bearing defect that causes bearing failure and brake wobble due to the weak bearings that's on 2004-2009 Ford F-150- 2wd trucks. The bearings can't be changed unless you purchase the entire installation (rotors, ABS hub bearing and one-time use nut.) Ford knows that the bearings are weak but will not authorize a repair unless you use original equipment. Ford put out a bulletin to use 4X4 parts on the 2wd vehicle. The 4X4 parts includes 3 pieces which included a more durable and harder bearing than what comes on the 2wd. There is only one place in Texas that will due this repair (just brakes.) the repair is $300 per side but is a permanent fix for the weak bearings. Also each part can be change individually. Ford will sell you the parts but they will not make this repair to your vehicle. The bearings have a constant humming noise and the biggest mistake that is made is that. The nut is not change when the breaks are bearings are replaced. By not changing the nut the torque value can't be reached again. I had this repair done at just brakes and my truck hasn't riden this well in 2 yrs. Ford needs to be requested to reimburse all owners that have had this problem. It is a very dangerous matter.

After noticing a low tire my driver was attempting to air it up but to no avail and we noticed it was leaking at a weld on the rim. We took it to a dealer and was told it was cracked about a third of the way around the rim where the center was welded to the outer rim. I had to buy a replacement wheel but our concern is that this might happen again. If it had cracked much farther the outer rim would have separated from the vehicle. Has this problem been reported before. Thank you curtis peterman alexander mechanical Kansas City,

While investigating a front tire with an air leak, it was discovered that the outer rim (where the tire bead seats) of the steel oem wheel had split away from the rest of the rim for a circumferential length of over 10 inches near the tire bead sealing surface. It appears that the outer portion of the rim was almost to the point of separating from the rest of the wheel and allowing the tire to dismount from the wheel. If that had occurred in traffic, the results easily could have resulted in serious injury. This is a 17 inch six lug oem wheel with the chrome clad front surface from a four wheel drive F-150. This wheel was removed from service, but we are concerned about other similar wheels on this and other trucks and would be interested to know which other wheel types have the potential for similar defects due to similar manufacturing techniques.

Purchased a 2005 F-150 4X4 Ford pick-up truck and immediately felt a strong vibration throughout the truck. Took it back to three different dealerships each one claiming they fix it. The vibration still exists and now the steering wheel is vibrating. I believe this truck is unsafe. I will continue to exhaust all avenues to repair or replace this truck.
