F-150 XLT 4.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,565 miles

Earlier this year my windshield cracked, which it was full of chips so it was expected. Upon replacing it, I am now getting my 5th replacement windshield replaced today, as all subsequent windshields will just randomly crack from what I am assuming is manufacturer defects. No chips or dings, I wake up and get in my truck and it has split overnight. Glass company has been great and they have all been covered by warranty, but annoying as hell every couple weeks I am booking appointments to get it replaced.

F-150 XL 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

My F-150 windshield cracked all across the bottom from a small already repaired rock chip.

This is the fourth time this has happened. All three windshields i've replaced have been cracked across caused by rock chips. I'm a huge ford fan but with all the other problems I keep having I'm beginning to loose my faith.

I will mention this three more times so there graph thingy stays accurate.

F-150 Lariat

  • 6,000 miles

Within the first 500 miles I had my first chip, my insurance sealed the crack free of charge. The second chip was on the highway. This one started under the driver windshield wiper and cracked half way up threw the window. Not very pretty to look at.

The windshield cracks from relatively insignificant debris. I have two already from small gravel. Both incidents occurred at about 55 MPH on an interstate highway.

MY WINDSHIELD BROKE WITH ONE TINY STONE CHIP AT THE BASE OF THE GLASS. IT FRACTURED VERTICALLY THROUGH THE DRIVERS VIEWING AREA. MY INSURANCE PAID TO REPLACE IT WITH GENUINE FORD GLASS. ONE WEEK LATER IT WAS STRUCK WITH TWO MORE ROCKS AND NOW HAS FISHEYE CHIPS IN IT. ? IS THE GLASS NOT GOOD OR IS THE AERODYNAMICS OF MY TRUCKS FRONTEND CAUSING ME TO HAVE SO MANY WINDSHIELD STRIKES. JUST CURIOUS.....
