I bought my 2006 F-150 used in November 2009 with high 30k miles on it. the truck was and still is spotless for the most part. I am a neat and clean freak and so was whomever owned the truck prior. It only has 42k on it now. I only use it to pull my boat on the weekends during the summer, the rest of the time it is garaged. When I bought it I noticed tiny tiny rust spots in the paint. The dealer determined that they were in the clearcoat and buffed them out. Well, they are coming back! I planned on keeping this truck for a very long time, but if there is a problem with the paint I don't want to own a rust bucket in 5 years. As little as I drive it, the fact that it is garaged and the low mileage this seems wrong. Does anyone know if there is a recall pertaining to this problem? The dealer says no, go figure!

The paint and clear coat on the roof and the hood are bubbling and flaking. The estimates I have been getting run about $2500. They say the hood and roof have to be completely stripped re primered and repainted.
