How can a truck which I bought new and drive myself have such awful brakes? These rotors after being turned at 34,850 miles didn't even last until the warranty expired. This particular dealer who had done all my service sold to a new owner. I spoke with the new service manager at about 52,000 miles, bit he simply told me Ford. Did not have brake problems so it must be me. I drove a GMC for120,000 miles and never even turned the rotors when brakes were replaced at 80,000. I did file a claim with Ford which was brushed aside by telling me I was out of warranty. Ford is apparently using very cheap parts. Many of the replacement companies warranty their rotors for life against warping. I have never hauled anything over 200 lbs. and am a conservative 64 year old driver who has bought numerous vehicals, but this was the first Ford.

This Problem returned before 50,000 miles, but the dealership was being sold. When I finally went and spoke with the new Ford service manager, he informed me that Ford didn't have any braking Problems. I submitted a complaint through Ford Motor Co. but they simply told me I was out of warranty and the new dealership was not responsible for what occurred under the old dealership. Now, The truck needs 4 rotors and new pads. This truck has never hauled anything but a piece of furniture and I am a 64 year old conservative driver. My last truck was a GMC which went over 90,000 miles before new brake pads and did not even need the rotors turned. Why should a truck need $1000.00 work of brake work at 50,000 miles when it was babied and never even been on a gravel road.

Update from Feb 28, 2013: Ford turned all four rotors and replaced the pads under warranty. This repair solved my problem temporarily for a few thousand miles, but came back again shaking when stopping and leaving a brown coating on my wheels.

My Ford F150 has developed a serious brake shudder issue. I have looked a the original brake pads all are still in good condition! The rotors however have scratch marks going from the center of the brake rotor to the outside of the brake rotor! Not normal! Just met another 2007 F150 owner who had the exact same issue at 45000 miles. He had to replace all 4 rotors on his $$$$$! It would appear to me that there is an issue with the brake rotors for this particular vehicle? Bet he and I aren't the only ones with this issue?

I will be contacting Ford Motor Company on this issue today, very displeased with this issue!!! Will keep all informed on what becomes of it. Please post if you have or know of someone who has the same issue with thier Ford brakes. Thanks

My Ford truck has less than 40,000 mikes on it. I noticed the vehicle shimmy slightly when stopping. Took it in to Brake Masters for them to check to see if I needed new brake pads. The pads were fine but the shop informed me that the rotors needed to be replaced and could not be turned because the original rortors when turned would be not within spec. The rotors wore out before the pads! How the f*ck does that happen! Ford needs to put better rotors on their vehicles. The shop informed me that this is a common problem, I will never purchase another FORD product. I'm going to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the National Better usiness Bureau.
