The timing chain broke, the camshaft and valves and pistons lost their synchronization, the two heads cracked, two pistons broke, and other problems. The F150 has only 110,000 miles, has been well-maintained with oil and filters changed according to Ford's recommendations. Because I wanted Ford to know of the problem, I emailed Ford customer service center and told them the problem. They telephoned me and told me that because I was in Mexico I needed to contact Ford Mexico. So I emailed Ford Mexico. Its representative telephoned me to tell me they weren't interested because it wasn't under warranty.

So I'm getting it fixed in Mexico by a great local mechanic at a cost of US $3,150. . I contacted the Ford dealer in Puerto Vallarta about getting it fixed, and they said it would be US$5,775. So Ford is charging a premium! I had my F-150 there for an intermittent electrical problem last year, and after spending US $1,000, it still wasn't fixed. A local auto electric shop in my town north of Puerto Vallarta found the problem and charged my 200 pesos, US15.38.

Last year the transmission went out and every part in the interior of the transmission had to be replaced. This is my 5th Ford and the 5th Ford with transmissions that needed to be rebuilt at between 80,000 and 100,000 miles. I'm finished with Ford.

As I've told my story to friends and acquaintances, they've all asked, Why are you still buying Fords? Good question.....stupidity on my part is the best answer.

I don't know where to begin, running fine one day. next day after it warms up it wont idle it dies but restarts with out a problem but wont idle without coaxing . Take it to local mechanic he say vct need replacement he does not have time. Drive to the dealer drop it off .They call next day and say it needs a long block.

8400 dollars what the hell. I pay them 200dollars for there expert opinion they put it together I pick it up drive another 35 miles to another mechanic He calls a couple of days later said it runs rough needs new motor 6400 dollars what the hell The dealer now calls for a follow up and says they can knock 1500 hundred off there price.What the hell the other guy has already been given a deposit and said he has started . Okay I give up.Between all of this I had called another place Michigan Motor Exchange they were slow getting back to me but did finally come back with a price 4800.00 new rebuilt motor with 250000 warranty oh well to late

I guess the worst part is I never had a blown engine before but I thought if I did you would not be able to drive it or at least it would burn oil or puff smoke I want to trust people but this time it is tough

i was coming from norfolk virginia.i had my wife,grandkids and my daughter-in-law in the car.got to suffolk and the engine just died, no warning.10 minutes later the truck cranked right up,came all the way to columbia,s.c ,no problems.

No prior symptoms. It was a good running truck until this happened. I had been driving from Mobile, AL to Jacksonville, FL & stopped for a break about 30 miles from Jax. It wouldn't start back up. Had it towed to Jax. Code reader showed no codes. I thought it may be the starter so I removed it and had it checked out and it was bad, so I replaced it. Still no good. Took it to a local mechanic and he showed me that the motor was locked up. Probably a bent valve. Not absolutely sure but it will require extensive maintenance & probably an engine change.

My engine started running bad on the back from Macon, Ga. I replaced the mass air flow sensor, and it was still bad, I replaced the plugs and ignitions coils, after running rich fuel through the convertors i had to replace them, after all of that my engine still ran rough...I found out I had a leaking fuel injector and I had it replaced...still running rough, it will run fine for a little while (20 to 30 mins) I took it to two shops and there was no answer to my problem, I took it to FORD and the charge me to fix it and told me I didn't need an engine, a week later they said it would cost more to fix it and I said fine... after that they could not fix it and they wanted there money and told me I need a new engine, my truck has been parked for a year and I am still paying for it. Any ideas?????????

take your time, try to understand how everything works. I am from Belgium and its not easy to fix an American pick-up overhere. both with an obd2 and some creativity you get very far. I do everything myself

I'm in total disbelief that an engine would fail so early in the life of a vehicle. When I took it in to the dealership for their opinion, I was given every excuse why. From not using motor craft oil and oil filters to having a K&N air filter. They even went as far as removing the oil cap to prove to me my engine was full of dirt and grim. I didn't see it and I'm quite sure he couldn't either but, he was convinced of it. Since all my oil changes we done at a "Non Ford" service station, have all the service records as proof, the service manager assured me that if I would have let them service my truck they would have caught this problem before it reach this point. Well, when I brought to his attention that I had just had my sparkplugs change at that very dealership, he was more than happy to change his tune. Good luck fellow '06 F-150 owners
