2007 Ford F150 4X4 my wife cane home from work and said the rear end was making a sound I went out to look and found the rear housing had broke off at the housing bell and was resting on the axle. In all my life I have never seen this. All people I talk tohave never seen this. I do think this is a defect in the housing. Just wanted to know if this has ever been reported before. If so can any thing be done about it. Can Ford be held responsible for it. Thank god she was not in a wreck. Pickup will only be four years old in Dec.

Evidently, Ford has had a major problem with their truck spark plugs for years. Just google "Ford truck spark plugs" and you will find many complaining about this along with their unbelievable stories of misery this has caused. I am continually having the coils on the spark plugs go out. I replaced one and it cost me $262. Now, I have another going out. The truck runs rough. I would replace all of them, but the Ford dealership recommended not to because they said these plugs break off when trying to remove them and then tend to blow out of the engine after removing and replacing them. Then, I researched this on the internet and read about the horror stories about these Ford spark plugs. I have contacted Ford by email, but they said until the NHTSA issues a recall, they will do nothing. Please help us with this.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the spark plugs were defective. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership for replacement and the contact was informed that the plugs were defective due to a design flaw and should be changed. The dealer also stated that they would switch them out but if they did not function properly, the contact would have to pay to take them out. The contact called the manufacturer and was offered no assistance. The current and failure mileages were approximately 101,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford F-150. The service engine light illuminated. The dealer advised the contact that the engine needed to be replaced while he was replacing the spark plugs. The dealer was unable to identify the reason the engine needed to be replaced other than he knew other vehicle owners who had the same issue. The cost to replace the engine was $6,400 since it had to be replaced with the updated version produced by the manufacturer. The manufacturer stated that they could not offer him any assistance and advised him to speak with the dealer. He asked the manufacturer if he could buy an engine for $1,800 but they refused to answer the question. The current mileage was approximately 148,000. The failure mileage was approximately 146,000.

Truck has a rough idle issue since 6K. I now have 30K. The problem happens when the truck is started cold sometimes is very bad engine shake, also when idling at a stop light engine seems to shake. No check engine light comes on even when the truck is running so bad it seems like it is going to stall. I have had it at the dealer many times and they can't find a problem they say because no trouble codes show in the computer or check engine light does not come on.

At 33K mile my 2007 F 150 with the 5.4 liter engine had engine failure. The engine failed as a result of a know problem that Ford has with a back of the 5.4 liter engine having to much end play on the cam shaft. As a result the engine was starved for oil and failed in the middle of a trip. The oil pressure dropped to 0 when the engine was full of oil. Ford's suggestion is to only replace heads when they know that the engine was starved for oil. They will not officially admit to the problem but several Ford employees have told me Ford is aware of the situation. The engine initially locked up and would not re start. Had this happened at high speed the situation could have been deadly.

The idle on the vehicle is up to 2000 RPM, it is unsafe when the idle does not return to the factory specification. The dealer worked on it and said it would get better and gave me a tsb 619400 / 19508. 2007 vehicles- gas engine vehicles with higher than normal idle speeds. This is unsafe............

Truck accelerated from 0 to 25 mph without warning. Had to put in neutral and turn off engine before the truck would stop. Even with the brake applied the truck would not stop. It was taken to the dealer and they could find no problem.

New Ford F150 with 648.5 miles. Was told it has a head gasket leak. Was down July 9 & 10 and July 23 until " Ford Motor Company had no part to fix it. Was told that we would get back on August 11, but still no truck. Was told that there are 8 others that have the same problem by Ford Motor Company. Is there other reports on this" we are scared to death to get it back and drive it. It kept shooting oil or something out onto our garage floor.
