F-150 LXT 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

the truck RPM surges at red lights and stop signs took the truck in to have it checked out and 385.00 later I was rolling again and now less than a year and half later the truck is having the same issue , I think it has something to do with the throttle body's on the ford products

F-150 Lariat 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,734 miles

Cool wet morning (65F) but not raining at the time. Drove down hill to stop sign at 25mph. After slowing, truck suddenly surged a minute after having surged into the previous intersection. Tachometer reved to 3000rpm and a quick shift to neutral prevented being dragged into intersection. Truck purchased at Ricart Ford with 60 day warranty. Scheduled inspection.

Its a safety concern.........I'd hate to have a child or my wife drive my truck when this would occur as they may not be quite a ready process the problem and try to avoid an accident. Please advise.

My f150 accelerates on its own when stopping almost causing several accidents. Two dealers were unable to find anything wrong. Four times in 3 months the truck suddenly accelerates to 2000 RPMs when slowing down to stop. This happens when the truck has slowed to about 10 MPH. All of a sudden on its own the engine revs up to 2000 RPMs and I am unable to stop. The only way to stop is to throw the gear shifter into neutral. This almost caused several accidents and is a severe safety problem. I can't let anyone in the family drive the vehicle for fear of an accident. Two dealers found nothing wrong. I e-mailed Ford but they have not yet responded. Don't know what to do next.
