Driving on a 2 lane road coming up to a red light, truck shut off completely, could not restart, had to call for tow truck, sitting on roadway at a 3 way rush hour intersection for half hour waiting for tow. Repair cost $350 dollars. Plus $100 dollars towing.

I was accelerating from a stop and vehicle shut off. I am 8mths pregnant and was stuck on the side of the road for over a 1/2 hour in -45 degree weather waiting for tow truck, because vehicle would not start. Mechanic looked at vehicle and found #9 fuse for fuel pump blown. Fuse replaced, and vehicle ran for 30seconds and electrical plug to driver control module began to smoke and melt. Driver control module and electrical plug replaced, and vehicle runs. I would have like to have been notified by Ford to avoid my stranded experience in -45 degree weather. This was a huge safety risk and it can be avoided. Ford should have located this device near the fuse box or under hood by fire wall plenty of room and same amount of wire.

Fuel pump control module failure resulting in engine stalling causing loss of power and control to steering and braking functions at high speed and in heavy traffic. The fuel pump control module on the truck failed at intermittent and erratic intervals, causing immediate shut off of fuel to the engine. Control functions, particularly power steering were compromised and accidents were barely avoided. The engine would eventually restart- up to the point that the module failed completely. The first fuel pump control module was replaced around 14000 miles in 2010. The second was just replaced at 24446 miles. The cost to replace the fuel pump control module is approximately $500.

While driving truck it shut off suddenly without and warning, driver fuel pump control module. This unit is located in an area that is highly corrosive and has no protection against the elements. When this part failed I was driving in a parking lot at a low speed however I was told it can happen any time at all. Once this part goes the vehicle is totally inop. I had to have the truck towed in to the dealer and the part replaced at a cost of $356 labor $125 parts. I was also told I was lucky it took this long and had better plan on doing it again in the near future as it is a common issue with all Ford trucks. Ford redesigned the part but the service manager told me it will happen again as it is only nickel coated and offers no protection from the elements.

Bought the truck new. Has 4 winters on it. Cost me $421.12 to fix at a Ford dealer, plus another $54 to have towed to dealer. Bad placement or design of placement. 118,000 miles I expect to start replacing parts, but not this. Why should people who live in cold climates be penalized.

While driving in a parking lot the vehicle shut off completely without warning causing lose to all power systems. The vehicle would not start, dealer stated that the fuel pump driver control module is the cause of this. They further stated it is a common issue and should have a recall or some thing for the northern states. Also replaced was the fuel rail pressure sensor(P0191 code). Still no resolve to issue.

I went online and found a lot of problems with the fuel control module on Ford F150. My concern is I broke down on the freeway because of control module failure. On a 2007 model. Little scary on the freeway. I think some one should look in to maybe a recall on this part. So no one else will experience the scary brake down I had on the freeway [I-75].

The contact owns a 2007 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the engine was running, the contact smelled fuel inside the vehicle. Upon further inspection, a fuel leak was discovered. The contact then called a towing service and the towing company called the fire department. The fire department approved of the vehicle being towed to a local repair facility. The mechanic noticed two holes in the fuel line and the fuel line was replaced. After the repairs, the contact had no further issues. The contact stated the fuel line should have been covered or made with sheet metal because an animal was able to chew through the fuel lines, causing a leak. The failure mileage was 18,200.

Driving along, heard a bang, smelled very strong smell of fuel, truck started backfiring and vibrating so much it was hard to control, forward motion slowed rapidly, vibration, attempted to pull the truck over across 4 lane of traffic, opened windows as the smell of fuel was choking everyone in the cab. Stopped truck, engine running very rough and had strange noise, unable to locate. Eventually found right rear most spark plug blew out of head (leaving metal threaded part and base in head), contacted dealer "big Ford, vancouver, wa" and "courtesy Ford, portland, Oregon" both claim the "flex fuel engines have a common problem with the spark plugs separating, sticking in the head, and/or exploding out of the head" the also stated the Ford was aware of the problem but no recall was taking place as there were not enough complaints as of yet (the truck engine is damaged, still smells like fuel inside the cab, plugs, coil, and injector have been changed, dealer would not honer "bumper to bumper warranty" this issue will eventually cause a great number of deaths and or injuries and the fuel issue could likely cause an explosion (even in my vehicle after the repairs)(dealers wanted between $2,000 and $6,000 to extract the spark plug bases and stated repeatedly it was a common issue and it was "not covered under warrently"

This event has occurred twice in the last 3 months. The vehicle is a 2007 Ford F150 stx model with the 4.6L V8. In the last 3 months twice the #3 cylinder has blown a coil pack. The first time all I had to do was replace the coil pack. This most recent time it actually blew the spark plug out of the cylinder head. I again had to replace the coil pack but this time I had to buy a kit to repair the stripped head. The vehicle shut off and would not restart. I was able to get the vehicle to the side of the highway with out incident. I was driving on a main high way but luckily I was in the far right hand lane. Had I not been I don't know if I would have been able to guide the vehicle to safety as it had no power.
