Campaign number: 18E069. I am unable to get anyone to answer the number provided in the letter at lrg. I have the effected rims and they are now leaking air. I would like to file a complaint.

While driving at 35mph or less the driver side front hub assembly may emit an intermitent grinding noise as if the hub is trying to lock into four wheel drive. Grinding noise stops when vehicle is slowed to 15mph or less. Sometimes full stop is needed to cease grinding noise. When noise stop a jerk can be felt as if the hub locks back into its place. Took vehicle to Ford dealership and they recommended bringing vehicle in when grinding noise was present. That is not possible because the noise will stop when I slow down. Dealership could not recommend any way to diagnose it without paying to have it inspected. Problem has not been diagnosed and manufacturer has not been notified. Vehicle was bought 3 years ago at 43K miles and has approx. 80K current miles. Noise is intermittent with occaisional long periods between occurences. Can happen within 5 miles of driving or after 500 miles of driving.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford F-150. The contact was driving 70 mph when tire pressure sensor illuminated. The contact noticed that the rear passenger's side tire was low and the tire was replaced with a spare. The vehicle was taken an independent mechanic for inspection where the contact was advised that the valve stem was leaking. The issue recurred on the rear driver's side valve, which also became fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the incident. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000.

I have factory 20 inch Ford wheels on this truck. These are the 20 inch wheels that came on the truck new. Two of the factory wheels have had cracks that appear on the wheel where the tire bead meets the wheel. I do not abuse my truck. I contacted Ford Motor Company and they said that they have never heard of this before. I have had two wheels do this. If you do a search on the net there are several people having this problem. I think Ford is trying to hide something and it looks like someone will have to get hurt or die before anyone address this problem.

I bought a used Ford 2007 F-150 super crew cab 4X4. New tires were put on by the dealer. I have had three separate incidents of the tire valve stems breaking and causing deflation while in movement. After two breaking I went to the dealer and complained. I was told they had no reason or complaints of this occurring.while traveling out of state I had a third stem break. Each time I had new stems replaced. I began researching for myself and found an article which stated that Ford had complaints of defective valve stems on almost all their vehicles including Mercury's. after two attempts and complaints to my dealer I went to a local tire distributor and they recommended replacing all rubber valve stems with brass high pressure valve stems. After doing this I have not had a problem. The cost for rubber stems are around $1.50 each and I paid $6 each for the good stems. This is a small price to pay for you and your family's safety. My dealer still hasn't contacted me with a suggestion as to correcting the problem. First incident was around April 5, 2010 and second incident August 24, 2010 and third was October 18,2010.

2007 Ford F-150. Severe wheel shake was reported. Upon inspection found outer wheel rim was separating from wheel. Discovered large crack in the weld. This is the third wheel from deferent trucks of same year vintage with this problem. Contacted Ford and they are aware of problem, but declined to due anything about it. We have had a equal amount of both 2006 and 2007 F-150's that this problem has occurred on. All of these truck perform different duties, so the type of use is not part of the problem. Fortunately there have been no accidents or injuries from this problem, but certainly there is the potential for injuries if the wheels were to come completely apart and the tire leave the rim. I'm curious as to how many other people have had this problem or have the potential of having the problem.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford F150. While making a U-turn at 5 mph, the front passenger side wheel fell off the vehicle. The vehicle has been at the dealer ever since. The dealers in one state do not want to repair the vehicle and are going back and forth with whom should take care of the issue. The failure mileage was 11,000.

I have had 3 of the 4 tire valves leak 1 has leaked 2 times so a total of 4 leaks over the past 3 months. I have taken them to tire repair shops and also the Ford dealer to fix. The dealer told me they thought it was because of harsh cleaners. I told them I don't use any. The tire repair shops told me they thought it was a problem with the valves. The dealer told me there was nothing they could do but do a repair and charge me that it wasn't a recall or warranty issue. I have been having wearing on my tires due to these problems.
