So Ford does not have to support a vehicle even as long as it would take to pay off an original 84 month loan?
How can that be? A 2009 vehicle, in otherwise perfectly good condition, we have had NO other mechanical issues with it. The Bulk Head Connector started leaking, which if you GOOGLE 2009 Ford transmission leaks, your computer will light up like a Christmas tree, 2009-2010 several models of Ford, and Mercury have this issue. So, evidently, when we took it in for the repair, the mechanic found that either the transmission fluid had caught fire from being next to the exhaust, or dissolved the wire insulation on the harness assembly. Either way, I have a truck, with a loan still due, and no way to fix it.
A Nation wide search of chop shops, bone yards, transmission overhaul shops, and Ford Corp in Deer-Born Michigan themselves cannot provide me with a replacement part. We tried having the pins and wires rebuilt and are not sure we can keep it weather tight. Things do not look good. This is a service truck for a family owned small business. I called Corp, They were kind enough to have a "regional Manager" call me back, telling me there is nothing they can do. BUT, they would be happy to help me get into a NEW vehicle with some kind of discount that is hardly worth mentioning.....I am 53 yrs old. I have NEVER owned a new vehicle. I was perfectly happy with the one I had. I put $6,000.00 down on it and made accelerated payments on it.I have had it for two years. I still owe 8K. It is worth nothing as a trade in because of its current condition, how funny!
I have just dumped over $13000.00 down the toilet, have eight thousand more to pay, and on a vehicle i can't use because they say a necessary part for it to operate is obsolete. For the first time in my life I think I know what it feels like to "go postal". Am at a complete loss. Note: I have a 2009 Explorer Sport Track with the same leak, still running, I am afraid to let anyone touch it.
