F-150 FX4 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,671 miles

Bought 2009 F150 FX4 used in June 2013. Likely had a transmission oil leak all along but was cleaned up by dealership prior to sale. Leak was not significant but noticeable stain on driveway. Didn't get it fixed until May 2018. It was a bulkhead seal which was known to leak. Ford eventually upgraded the seal when they found out about the issue but there is likely many models out there with the original bad seal. Fairly simple fix, labor cost more than the parts.

F-150 Lariat 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 71,500 miles

This is the straw that breaks the camels back, I bought this truck from auction with 65000 miles. In the last 6000 miles my engine is tapping, the sunroof does not open and close and it leaks. I have a loud clunking sound when I start and stop, and now I come home to see transmission fluid dripping out from under my truck. I don't understand how a $50K+ TRUCK CAN BE A COMPLETE PIECE OF s!%T AT 71k MILES. I WILL NEVER OWN A FORD AGAIN
