Driver heated seat function was on while driving, suddenly there was a very hot spot felt under driver's left leg, then heated seat function then went off. Further attempts to operate the heated seat function resulted in a temporary illumination of the driver heated seat indicator, followed by an extinguishing of same indicator after about 1 second. The vehicle in question is no longer eligible for coverage under the 3/36,000 bumper to bumper portion of the Ford 2010 new vehicle limited warranty; therefore, the vehicle owner elected to perform his own investigation into the problem. The owner dismantled the driver seat and found burnt components in the vicinity of a failed wire that was part of the seat heater subsystem, all of this under the seat cover in an area that would have been underneath the left leg of the driver. The failure was identified as a burnt/charred wire that opened the circuit of the heated seat function. Photos of the dismantled seat showing the burnt/charred components are available at: www.F150forum.com/F38/2010-driver-bucket-seat-heat-repair-286693/. other postings at www.F150forum.com suggest that this problem is not necessarily an isolated incident. The vehicle owner subsequently affected his own repair to the heated seat subsystem, returning the subsystem to full functionality. The vehicle owner is concerned that an as-assembled-by-the-manufacturer subsystem failure of this type has the potential to induce a condition of thermal runaway which could potentially lead to a vehicle fire. The vehicle owner has yet to inform the Ford Motor Company of this incident at the time of this writing on 24-Jan-2015.

My seat heater stopped working several months ago, I went to replace it today and found that the heat element had melted and turned black the seat cushion in the area of where it melted, I don't believe that there was actual fire but had the power not shut off I am sure that the seat would have caught fire.

2010 F-150 with 5.4 L V-8 engine, during operation of the air conditioning system the passenger side floor board to include carpet and matting were soaked. Subsequent servicing by dealership found a faulty elbow and hose from air conditioning unit. Dealership replaced elbow and hose and re-plumbed the hose at a cost of approximately $300. Dealership noted that the elbow and hose were faulty on the invoice.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the driver's side metal track assembly and cable failed due to defective material. In addition, the driver's seat could not be adjusted in a safe driving position. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The metal track assembly and cable was replaced. The failure mileage was 57,317 and the current mileage was 59,000.

The driver's side seat heater quit working after my wife complained about it "getting so hot it was literally burning her legs". I took apart the seat today to replace the heating pad because I had read about this being a common problem. To my surprise my wife was not exaggerating. There were burn marks on the foam insulation around a connecting piece of the bottom seat heater. My truck is out of warranty, otherwise I probably would've just dropped it off at the dealer and never witnessed this myself.

Issues began on Friday morning. Had a warning on dash indicating left rear door ajar, when in fact the door was closed. Took to dealer who said it was probably a bad sensor and for $400 they could fix it. Faulty warning will not let auto locks engage or alarm to set as it is reading the door as open. Huge safety concern if you are travelling with a child, the doors will not lock and you happen to get into an accident. Possible ejection of passengers. Then came out to the truck on Friday afternoon and noticed the rear seats were wet. Unable to find out why. Further investigation today reveals that the headliner is damaged from water damage. Reading several places online, it appears that the F-150 has a bad leaking problem from the 3rd brake light on the rear of the cab. This will now have to be fixed and replaced and the truck is hardly 3 years old. Disappointed in the quality "Ford built" products.

I own a 2010 Ford F-150 XLT supercrew, the 2nd row seating does not lock in the seating position. I have taken the vehicle to South bay Ford in ca. The service department looked and could not find anything wrong but I feel this is a safety item that should be addressed asap, since the seat does not lock in the seating position that means in an accident the seat is free to move which means passengers will not be secured properly! I understand use of seat belts are paramount in accidents but if the seat has a stationary position in the seating position passengers would be much safer...please look into this before people get killed in this vehicle.
