Just after I bought this 2010 FX4 it rained and I noticed water on the rear seat. Looked up and saw it was coming from the 3rd brake light. The headliner is all stained in the rear under it from one side of the truck to the other. This was not something new. Peterson's Ford pretty much told me I'm on my own with it because of course it's not covered. I bought a tube of silicone and pulled the light off put a bead around and put it back on. This fixed the problem, no more leaks, but the silicone a year later started to mold and looks terrible. Not to mention the stained headliner. After googling around, talking to other F150 owners and reading about it, seems that this is a very common problem with everyone's F150 from 2014's all the way back to 1990's. I mean COME ON FORD!!!!!!!!!!! What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 20 years to fix a simple problem like that and screw everyone in the past?????????? BS!!!!

SUDDENLY MY F150 HAS DEVELOPED A SEVER INTERIOR REAR DRIVERS SIDE CORNER ROOF LEAK. I HAVE SEALED THE 3RD LIGHT. STILL LEAKING. AS RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH F150'S. WHY DOESN'T FORD DO THE RIGHT THING AND RECALL THEM FOR A FIX. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW. MAYBE IF WE STARTED SUING THEM FOR NEW HEADLINERS AND INTERIOR RUGS THEY MIGHT DO THE RIGHT THING.

Just bought truck noticed some small water stains in each corner of rear headliner. thought previous owner may have left windows cracked while raining not the case top of cab at each corner has black plastic on roof mounted in rubber not sure what purpose they serve but pretty sure that's where water is coming in. I believe that ford made a huge mistake making the super cab with no pillar between front and rear doors. The doors don't shut as well without the pillar bar. They know of several problems with these trucks and seem not to care.Dont know what to do???

Vehicle apparently leaking for at least 10 months at sat antenna and 3rd brake light, Vehicle is a 2010 F150 built in March 2010. My vehicle was not included in the Technical Service bulletin 10-4-7, or 12-4-04. Took vehicle to shop and dealer opted to ignore TSB's and recommended replacement of both antenna and brake light at a cost of $740.00, this included a fee of $90.00 just to look at the vehicle and make a determination were the leak was coming from, although I told them were to look, they still charged this fee. I opted to have them fix the antenna. I ordered a new brake light from TASCOM Fort Parts. com at the cost of $100.83 which included shipping from RI to TX. I contacted Ford Customer service who completed a case file, and gave me a number telling me to check with a specific person at the Ford Dealership to determine if Ford could pay for all or some of the repairs. I don't expect Ford to do anything. Now from what I can tell Ford is well aware of this problem, and have been for some time ( research shows the problem started in 1998 on F-150 trucks.) The recommend fix is to use 1/8' of silicone as a gasket and reinstall antenna and light. IN fact when my original antenna was removed it was stuck to the roof ( according to dealer) that it took a long time to get it off, they claim it was glued on. But I purchased this truck new in May 2010, and the antenna has never been removed to my knowledge, so it came from the factory with this "glue". It only has 31,600 miles as of this writing.
Update from Nov 20, 2015: My floors were so wet because of these leaks that once the carpets were removed the auto restoration shop removed another half a gallon of water from the floors, and door threshold channels. They used a dehumidifier for 5 days to dry the interior out. The they spend another day treating the metal for prevention of mold or mildew. After this they reassembled the interior of my truck. Water stains to the rear seats, and headliner would not come out, costing damage well over $1500 dollars. When all was said and done so far I have spent $950.00 to fix the leaks and remove the water from the interior of my truck. Ford should have issued a recall on these problems long ago, or a class action suit should be started. I don't mine paying for required maintenance, or worn out parts, but these problems are design problems and should the cost of repairs should not be laid on me simply because the truck is out of the basic warranty. Heck, some trucks I have read had these problems in less than a thousand miles.

2010 ford harley edition f150 back seat gets water on passenger side when rain is heavy ford will not repair it . they say the warranty is up. I thought I had extended warranty to 60000 miles. The truck cost me 53000 k and I have purchased 6 fords in the past 20 years. Ford just drove me to buy chevys from now on.

Not sure what's leaking. Window? Rear cab Light? Satellite antennae? Never been notified of any recalls. When the car is steamy I can see what looks like steaks down the back windows, but have never seen water except the driving side rear just above the passenger headrest and back corner of the rear window.

I had a 1988 F150 which served me well… so I just purchased a 2010 F150 Crew Cab in Oct of 2014…The truck was only 4 years old…. And I was happy…. Then, after a couple of weeks I noticed water on the back seats, so I Googled it and found that this is a known problem with Dord trucks… I guess I should have Googled it before I bought it….. I think I’m stuck with a lemon…. This really pisses me off…

Water drips from lower mounting point on passenger side assist handle. Believe the Sirius antenna leaks. Any dealer recalls or fixes available on this?

I own a 2010 F-150 pickup. Over the weekend I started to have numerous water leaks in my truck. I had leaks near the rear window as well as down the driver’s side window and on the driver’s side passenger window. I went home and quickly found numerous websites describing how these issues are very common for not only 2010 F-150s but numerous years. Apparently the seal around the third/upper break light is terrible and frequently causes leaks. There is also an issue with the seal around the satellite radio antenna on top of the truck, this seal is in such bad condition that Ford actually announced a technical service bulletin (TSB 10- 4- 7) for it. As a result of all these leaks I now have a water stained headliner.
I called the Bowen Scarff Ford dealer (Kent, WA) service department and described my problems with their service representative. The service rep actually told me these water leaks are “common problems,†now obviously I was not surprised by this due to my research. I dropped off my truck yesterday and after numerous leak tests were done I was told the service cost (excluding a new headliner) would be $740 plus tax.
Now I don’t have a problem paying for something that I broke, or damaged. But when I go online and find how common of a problem these malfunctions are, and then have a Ford service rep essentially say “it’s a common problem†why should I be required to pay for it? Why should I be required to pay for a problem that Ford ADMITS is not only a common problem for their 2010 F-150 but numerous years? Shouldn’t Ford be putting quality products on their trucks?
To make it even worse, this dealership sold me this vehicle last April without even looking into TSB 10-4-7.
I was just contacted by a Ford rep (outside of the dealership) who told me we could “make a dealâ€, 15% off, equating to a little over $100 off. Are they crazy?
According to the Ford rep since my truck is beyond the initial 3 year / 36k warranty (even though I have an extended warranty) she is giving me a heck of a deal. We both know these issues aren’t wear and tear issues. My truck could have sat in a parking lot for 4 years with 1K miles on it and the antenna and break light would leak.
In my opinion that is a slap in the face.
I initially began sending numerous news stations in the Seattle the aforementioned statement. After I sent you this email I received a call from the manager of the Bowen Scaff Service Dept. This individual basically said that if I were to pursue talking to media then he would rescind the 15% discount. Is Bowen Scarff just a bully? Do I really have to give up my 1st Amendment Right just to get a discount?
During my conversation he said that the dealer is not the one who made the trucks, which I understand. But as I told him, they are a Ford dealer, they wear Ford uniforms, they represent the company, and they also sold me my truck.
I am just really upset with a company that can have their own employees selling products with parts they know are defective and simply wishing that these products fail after the 3 year / 30K factory warranty. And then when I call them to report the problem they act like it is not a big deal, typical common problem, then want nearly a thousand dollars to fix the problem. Why doesn't Ford put a quality brake light/satellite antenna in the vehicle in the first place? Why does Ford continue to put defective third/upper brake lights on their trucks when they know they are defective? In fact, I actually asked the Bowen Scarff rep this and he actually agreed with me!
I really want the millions of F-150 owners to see the potential issues they could be having without even knowing it.

Dealer knew about the leaking satellite antenna as this is another COMMON problem on Ford F150's with the satellite antenna on top of the roof. They took one day to take the antenna out and silicone it and put it back together.

Entering through the Sirius Satellite radio antenna, rain water ran down the passenger side interior A-pillar dripping onto the floor mat at first then started dripping out of the overhead console lights up front, onto the Nav/heater controls. Talked to the dealer the same day that it was noticed, they are aware there is a problem and are ordering the part to fix it. Sorry, I do not have the service bulletin number. If it is printed on the WO, I will advise.

I bought my ford used but I also know that the company has had many complaints on the same issues. I feel like should have been addressed. I bought a 2010 ford f150 the day I drove it off the lot I had to take it to shop to have rear end replaced because of the clutches which I got fixed then turned around and here we are exactly a year later my truck not only needs the rear end fixed again but also four wheel drive as well as cam phasers less then 100,000 miles and the truck not only looks like crap with paint peeling but you cant drive it. Not to mention the fact that due to fords negligence of not taking care of certain complaints I cant even get into my truck due to health issues. Most every single thing I've posted on here including what is causing me to have health issues has been complained about multiple times and has been looked over. I do not recommend getting a ford to anyone and I will never own another one and this is my second ford f150 the first one had some issues but nothing like the 2010 or later and my first one was an 02 which its main issues was throwing spark plugs and breaking coil packs.
