F-150 Super Crew XLT 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 51,000 miles

Having similar problem with brakes wearing out in about a month. Problem started after driving vehicle everyday back in September . I noticed on the passenger side brakes started to squeal, so I replaced pads and resurfaced rotors. The following month I noticed the same problem. I checked to see if there was a stone between pad and rotor, nothing appeared to be there, but pads were worn down again. I checked calipers noticed one was hung-up so I replaced both calipers and new pads. New pads and calipers in place and brakes still seam to drag a slight amount not sure what to do at this point, with this being my main vehicle.

purchased truck on july 2015 drove it off ford lot squealing brakes, took it right back, to the lot. told them brakes are squealing they need to be checked. Service department says of its all new stuff on there. they should be squealing but oh well bakes are new it will be fine. well under every 1800 miles or sooner, my pads are gone. I have replaced brakes hoses, calipers, rotors, clips and new pads 9 times in the front of the truck. calipers also known to seize up. now I took it into on Monday got it back on Tuesday night drove it Wednesday, my front end of truck wheres brakes are it made a loud pop noise, started smoking turning orange, so its back in the shop again. its not fair to us young generation trying to survive and make a vehicle payment and cant get answers. I'm about to turn to an attorney since I cant get relief and was sold a lemon vehicle. Any advice or anything? There is no recalls on this, its ridiculous since its my only vehicle and I have a 3 year old to put in it.

F-150 Platinum 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission

I have a relatively new truck, used only on the road, always driven highway miles, should be covered by warranty. The dealer found two fused inner pads on the front brakes and severely scored rotors on both front wheels. They asked that I pay to have these machined to their minimum thickness, it had to be done twice in this repair to stop pulsations.

This truck was bought new by me, first truck and first US vehicle in 25 years. I will not buy, recommend or even rent a ford vehicle again.

When I purchased a F150 in 2010, I purchased two(one for me & one for my son) My first and my son second(F250 Diesel). When I ask the employee at the Ford maintenance, he told me it was the brake rotor and they would need to be turned and this would solve the problem, otherwise, the rotor would warp and they would have to be replaced. I drove my son F150 this weekend and has the same problem. If this is know by the Ford maintenance personnel, then why is it still happening approximately at the same time in the age of the vehicle and why hasn't Ford correct the problem, It seems this has been happening for a long time, so why haven't they improved the braking system.m Now I have to either solve the problem my self and it is going to cost me. I do have extended warranty but it doesn't cover this. Thank you for listening.
