I just bought my truck and I'm having all kinds of issues with it but the worst one is that my truck is starting to die when I go from park to reverse or drive. Then its starting to do it when I slow down at stop signs and stop lights. It's always lagging and the rpms shoot way down if I'm not pressing the gas. Anybody have any feedback.on this problem?

04/08/2017 I thought I bought a tough truck. BUT I WAS WRONG! I went to Thoroughbred Ford out of Platte City,MO and I was not even one hour off the lot on a 30 min drive home. The F-150 started jerking pretty bad around 35 MPH with sometimes ZERO and VERY LITTLE throttle response. I was able to pull over safely into a small shopping center. When I put the truck in park, I left the truck running, I popped the hood, with a very loud banging accompanied by a very violent shaking of the engine compartment. There was no check engine light on nor did it ever illuminate. The truck is now parked in the same spot it costed into. I called the salesman and he said it was probably a minor problem, that they will pick it up and will have the maintenance department look at it Monday 4/10/17. It was NOT MINOR! I locked the keys in the truck and will NOT be taking it back home.. FORD CAN HAVE IT!

This first started back in Sep 2016 when I left my truck in long term parking (10 days) while on vacation. Came back, and went to start truck, and dead battery. Called AAA for jumpstart. They also replaced the battery as it was the original, and I didn't want to drive 90 miles home without proper charge.
The AAA guy plugged his charging device into the socket under the dash while replacing the battery to ensure I maintained my settings (I guess one of them super charging multi-purposes devices. Anyhow, replaced battery, and everything ok (radio channels, memory seats, etc). "no biggy".
When I went to drive off, the engine light came on and I advised the AAA guy that the light was on. He doesn't know why and said it could be the battery change.
Drove 3 miles to restaurant, and as I slowed down to make a right hand turn into the parking lot, I lost ALL power for steering, as the engine just DIED on me. (And it was NOT easy to try and turn). dangerous.
Was able to get the truck to start back up (took few tries), and pulled in parking lot. Figured let me get something to eat and then try again,.
Truck started up, but engine light was on. So went to AutoZone and had them check codes and explained what happened. She said it could have been just old fuel (not really). Had 1/4 tank of gas in it... And that it was showing multiple symtopns (O2 sensors, Purge Valve, etc.)
I was able to drive the rest of the way home with no problems after filling up. Engine light remained on. Then the next morning going into work, the truck started right up and no engine light..
Things were fine for a few days, and then it started right back up. Seemed to be mostly at low speed, in traffic. The vehicle just DIED and I could NOT turn the wheel, thankfully, it was near stop and ago, but was VERY tough to start again.
This was going on and off for few days at random until I decided to leave vehicle at home and take wife's car. to work. I did some research online to see what others were saying, and same problems. I am suspecting more with the purge valve, however, I have NO idea where it is located at, and can't get a part specific from autozone or other parts place (Haven't been to dealer yet).
So it started back up again, and died on me yesterday morning. On way home it was fine. But it is idling rougher then normal it seems.
Some history: -Almost all city miles (44.5K total now) -I put in gas treatment about every 5th tank (never let tank go below 1/4 of tank). -I tried to find the purge valve and they say it's in the back by fuel tank, but I have no idea, other places tell me on engine. -Engine light does not come on, just dies.
It's dangerous as it is to drive if needing to make a turn. Or in middle road of traffic. This Truck does not turn without power steering, and I grew up without "power steering" (them days). But those vehicles were easier to turn.
Anyone have any recommendaitons? I think this is a serious issue, and I don't seem to be alone with the problem. I don't want the dealer telling me I need 500$ in parts (most labor) if they can't pinpoint it.
Thankfully, I have equity in the truck. but after new tires and battery, and it is still like MINT condition. I hate to part iwth it. But scared to drive it.
Thanks

I have had numerous starting problems where my truck just cranks, but doesn't turn on. I've also had over 7 times where I'm driving down the road, and the truck just turns off, no warning or faults displayed. This morning, I finally figured out what it was. Fuse 27 (fuel pump relay fuse) was melted and part of the box melted. This is a dangerous problem. Luckily I have always been on a road where I can pull to safety. Some of those moments have been sketchy and I've almost had a few accidents. Ford needs to correct this issue. I have a 2010 Ford F150.

Engine stalls out while driving. My truck stalled on me 3 times on 10/21/15, and has happened a few times before but always on separate occasions. On the 21st, I was driving about 5-10mph in a shopping center parking lot when my truck stalled for the first time that day. About 15-20 minutes later, my truck stalled two more times, once at about the same speed as before and once while I was switching lanes at about 40 mph.
This also means I had no power steering and almost got into 2 accidents because of the problem. After the problem occurs, an oil funnel light comes on and then I shift my truck manually into neutral and turn the key and my truck fires right back up without hesitation. I drove my truck straight to the dealership where I let them test and drive it for 2 days and they could not recreate the problem, the truck didn't throw any codes either and the dealership says is normal when the engine stalls for the oil funnel light to come on.
I'm at a loss for what could be wrong with my truck and as to why this is happening. If my truck does this to me while driving on the freeway it could result in a huge accident. Any help is appreciated!
I also had the intake runner actuator replaced as well as the purge valve replaced within the last month.

While driving on the freeway at approximately 70 MPH, with out any warning, my engine stalled. I still had electrical power. I had to limp to the right shoulder during rush hour traffic and it's a miracle that I didn't cause a major accident. Once safely off the highway I attempted to restart the truck with no luck. It would crank over but acted like the motor wasn't getting any fuel. I had to have it towed to my house at a cost of $300. Made an appointment at my local dealer but haven't taken it in yet.

Ford where quality is job none! Cheap components that fail has plagued this vehicle and ill never buy another Ford.

A stalling vehicle while in traffic is dangerous, to myself and others! Ford should find the fix and do a recall!

The truck ran rough before stalling. 3 times it stalled. Fortunately I was at a stop sign or stop light when it happened. It is in the Ford service shop now and they have diagnosed it to be the cam sensors. It is covered under my extended warranty that I purchased for $3000 for 3 years or 45 k miles whichever comes first, when I bought the vehicle. The vehicle is a 2010 Ford F 150 4 by 4 and had 62260 miles when I bought it.

Same issue as many. Stalling, no codes. Very unsafe. Dealer won't fix unless code says so. Been back 5 times in two weeks. Finally used VDR to help. Replaced catalytic converts, o2 sensors and now evaporate canister and purge valve. Ford needs to recall and refund for repairs.

Driving home from work, had to make a fairly abrupt stop on a highway. Did not lock up the brakes, but truck stalled, and "Service Engine Soon" light came on, and stayed on. Drove truck to dealership (where I purchased it), about 3 miles away. Took four days to hook it up to diagnostic gizzmo. Said the EVAP Canister Purge Valve needed to be replaced (Invoice says "Performed EEC V Diag Found Code P1450 in PCM. Found TSB related to concern. Replaced EVAP Canister Purge Valve per TSB and re-tested. All OK at this time. KOEO KOER, Road Test Passed").
Have only driven about 20 miles since I got the truck back - will update if problem re-appears.
BTW - on two occasions prior to problem, truck was hard to start after refueling. Not sure if that is a precursor to the problem or not.

My F150 stalls out at random while the truck is going down the road at various speeds. First a wrench warning light comes on, then the gas pedal stops working, then the engine dies and I lose all power. This leaves the truck dead in the middle of the road. Ford says they cant find a cause(after four attempts) and so far has refused to fix, replace or buyback the truck. I am filing for lemon law protection and spreading the word about my experience with Ford. I will tell anyone that wants to listen the treatment and lack of caring for my safety that Ford has.

Seriously? This is ridiculous and embarrassing for ford. They've made a million of these engines, between police cars, trucks, cars, taxis, etc. I knew all the vehicles they put this engine in previously and that's part of the reason I trusted it. I was hoping I'd be buying something reliable. Joke's on me. What kind of sh*t engine dies at random and has all kinds of electrical codes thrown at random. (separate complaints have been filed for each electrical failure). Coincidence it's just past the manufacturer warranty? Probably not!
I bought the extended bumper to bumper warranty to ensure I wouldn't have to worry about this type of stuff. However, my dealershit, TERRY'S FORD of PEOTONE, ILLINOIS, will not honor these problems will not fix these problems. They have had my truck SIX times and they have not fixed the problem. They will not honor their service warranty. If they do not fix these problems they will forever lose a customer. And honestly if this is how they're going to treat their customers that's fine with me. I hope you take my experience to heart.
