I bought this truck in 2011. It had 20,000 miles on it. I was the second owner within the last six years I had put 52,000 miles into the truck. In total the truck ended up with 72,000 miles on it. I bought the truck for use of family vacations with my four children. Unfortunately we were driving home from Lake Michigan to Ohio and we broke down on the road. The engine was clicking, scraping and shaking. Ended our trip with stress of towing our truck and camper home which was costly and a huge inconvenience. I am almost 50 years old and I thought this truck was the last I was going to be using and had to purchase in my lifetime. I paid a large chunk of money from my lifetime savings to buy this truck. When I researched my truck I had found loads of information on how many issues the 5.4 triton engine has. In conclusion, I am disappointed in Ford, they should be ashamed and sued for ripping off so many customers. I have always been a Ford person and after this experience I will never recommend Ford to anyone.

I was a loyal ford owner going back nearly 30 years, until I bought this truck. I tow a 4200 lb. travel trailer, last summer while backing into my drive it started the "dodge cummings diesel" noise, lost power and started to sputter. I put truck in N and brought the RPM's up all problems went away, bad gas I thought, all was good. Until mid Feb. this year, driving home from work, 25 Km. away, all was good until I turned into drive, the truck started the same noise and problems again, again I put it in N increased RPM's and all was good again, or so I thought. From than on, up to today, June 13,2016 it happens every trip, plus now on starting it has that "dodge cummings diesel" noise. Haven't brought it to the dealer, except for regular maintenance, because I know what the problem is. Ford has issued a TSB for this problem, how long for them to pony up and issue a recall. If it wasn't for safety concerns ford would not issue any recalls, let the poor customer, who have already paid to much for a truck with so many problems, also to foot the cost of repairs for their incompetence at not being able at manufacturer a product worth calling a truck. I my opinion this problem with this engine is a safety concern, if I'm puling my travel trailer through the Rockies this summer and the engine craters or even stalls because of this problem and I lost brakes and steering going down a long steep grade with a sharp curve it will quickly become FORDS problem. Ford, keep this disregard for your customer crap up and it will affect your bottom line because without repeat customers and difficulty to sucker new customers in your bottom line will be getting a lot lower.

I bought a 2010 Ford F150. The day I drove it off the lot, I had to take it to shop to have rear end replaced because of the clutches. I got them fixed. Here we are exactly a year later and my truck not only needs the rear end fixed again, but also four wheel drive, as well as cam phasers. Less than 100,000 miles and the truck not only looks like crap with paint peeling, but you cant drive it. Not to mention the fact that due to Fords negligence, I can't even get into my truck due to health issues. Most every single thing I've posted on here, including what is causing me to have health issues has been complained about multiple times and has been looked over. I do not recommend getting a Ford to anyone and I will never own another one.
