This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
I ask Pundmann Ford to look at this problem. They did not even look at it, just like I had not said anything, twice. The third time they said they could not feel it. So I went to another dealer. Same thing. This was at low miles. Now I'm at 88,000 miles and it shakes so bad I'm not sure if I will make it home. I have been a Ford fan for 37 years. This is only my second 1/2 ton, both of have disappointed me. The 5.4 is great, but this tranny sucks. Sorry no other word for it. So what do I do? I have put new brakes, rotors, balance wheels. I'm tired of putting money into this. Is it bearing in the torc converter? Please help.

I am disappointed yet very happy with Ford. Here is the deal........In April 2010 I traded in My 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis for a brand new 2010 Ford F-150 STX. Test drove the truck and loved it! When I took it off of the lot and went home I noticed a moderate vibration. So I checked the owner's manual and it stated wait about 50 miles and any imbalance in the tires should go away. Well it didn't. The more miles I put on the truck the worse the vibration got! I did get the tires balanced numerous times however it was not the tires. I never reported this problem to Ford. Reason I never reported the problem is I have had issues in the past with older vehicles and they would never listen to me plus issues never got resolved so why waste the time. I was frustrated and upset because I bought a brand new vehicle and it drove like a 20 year old vehicle.
I owned the vehicle about a year and finally I just got sick of the vibration. I never had any other problems and absolutely loved the Truck!!! Well I went to the same Ford dealership where I brought it and decided to test drive a 2011 Ford F-150 supercrew with the 3.5 Ecoboost turbo engine. Guess what!!! NO VIBRATION!!! None, drove like a new truck should!!! I was happy! I told the salesman I wanted this truck, I haggled and we made a deal.
So now I own a 2011 supercrew and love the Ecoboost engine and the best part is there is no vibration!!! The salesman did ask me why I wanted to get rid of my 2010 and I lied and gave a stupid reason. I knew they wouldn't listen to me and would make up excuses and I didn't want to waste hours of my life on the BS they would give me! So I traded and I am finally very happy! From my experience and hearing what others have to say here is my advice.....If you are going to get a newer Ford STAY AWAY from the XL, STX trims!! I think they build these trucks shotty, my supercrew is so much better in a lot of ways! Go with an XLT or higher and you should be good to go. The other difference I noticed is my 2010 STX was built at the Kansas City plant and my 2011 supercrew was built at the Dearborn Michigan plant. I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but whatever it is I am so happy with my 2011 Ford F-150 and feel very bad for the guy who bought my 2010!!!
FORD GO BACK TO MAKING QUALITY VEHICLES ACROSS THE BOARD, NOT JUST SELECT TRIMS!!

On exceleration my F150 vibrates, also notice a vibration when driving on the highways. I took it to ford many times and no solution. They said it is unfixable and will not be a dangerous problem, but it is annoying to have spent 41,000.00 for a truck that can't be fixed. So I'm at a loss! The new transmission sucks! but it does save on fuel having the extra overdrive.

From day one, truck had a vibration at 45 to 51 MPH. Three trips to dealer yielded no improvement to the problem. Been thru the Ford Customer Service center twice, with no help at all. I drive 90% of the time at these speeds, so this is a big problem to me.
Seems I have been mislead about Fords quailty and their customer relationship programs. They were quick to say my problem was within Fords specs. and the dreaded "they all have this problem". Not sure what to do next.

Ok, guess I get to join the club of "I've just been screwed"! I bought this truck like most of you, having total faith in the Ford product, this is my 5th Ford pickup ranging from an old F-100 Ranger, F150 Lariat to the last one I had an FX 4 Off Road. I'm so disappointed in the vehicle and the Ford people I want to scream! I have a vibration between 40 and 65 mph. After taking the truck to the dealer numerous times nearing 10 I think(@ 75 miles round trip out of my pocket of course), where they could only change out tires, balance them 3 times, have another shop balance them THEN claimed they changed the drive shaft, and now we had a TSB to reset the computer because of a shutter in the transmission!!! I had a Ford Engineer tell me point blank, we can't get it any better than this! The gall of the butthead, after all its my darn buck! My reply to the Gen Mgr @ Dublin Ford (Ga) was to give me my trade back and I'll gladly go home. No luck there folks. His "suggestion was for me to contact Ford Customer service to see if they had a program that would help me cover the cost of getting into a NEW truck, crap I already got a NEW truck! Know anybody that wants to buy a slightly used F-150?

First off, THANK YOU for this sight and to all F-150 owners," Finally we are not alone!"( Ricart Ford said to my wife and I,"we are just nidpicking").
My wife and I bought this truck BRAND $40,000 NEW! It is a fully loaded 2010 F-150 4x4 with all the bells and whistles. I am disabled now and we got rid of three vehicles to get this one for the roominess . We have spent the majority of the trucks existence trying to get multiple issues resolved. The main one being the transmission vibration/ slipping. When you pull a load(over 1,000lbs.) with this truck it will shake you to death. Also, when accelerating from 40mph to 60mph the transmission feels as if it is slipping, almost like chugging along. The gentleman at Ricart told us,"F-150's are more like cars, they are not made to pull trailers." In which I replied,"your commercial has this same truck pulling a 11,000lb. boat, and I can't even pull a 500lb. mower!" To all F-150 owners- these new Ford trucks are junk! I have previously owned 6 Ford products, a 1994 Explorer, 1995 Explorer, 1998 F-150, 2000 F-250, 2007 Edge and a 2002 S-60 Volvo( yes Ford used to own them). All of those vehicles were good to us, ZERO complaints!
To end this entry, Ford has T.S.B.'s(Technical service bulletins) on all of our complaints calling them, normal characteristics of this 2010 F-150.
Four dealerships(2 of which wouldn't even look at it) and multiple conversations with Ford corporate, do yourself a favor, get an attorney.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Ford does not want to fix these issues.
We were loyal to Ford for a very long time, I cannot believe a company would treat anyone the way they have. NO MORE FORD PRODUCTS FOR US, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bought my 2010 Ford F-150 XLT Supercrew in November 2009. Drove it off the lot, had 6 miles on it and had a slight vibration, shudder, but figured it just needed a few miles to work things in. But things continued to get worse, not only did I have the vibrations and shuddering, usually between 40-50 mph but also had the hard shifting problems and the slamming into gear. The slamming into gear was so bad it would literally throw your head back. I had a friend with me in the truck and it shifted so hard or heads went back. he said, dang what was that? He looked in the side mirror because he thought we got hit from behind.
I called and spoke to my salesman several times and he said he would talk to someone in maintenance and they would get back to me. I never got a return call. Surprise! So I took my truck to Five Star Ford in North Richland Hills, Tx. Had less then 5000 miles on it and told them of the issues I had and left it with them. Got it back about a week later. They gave the excuse of: "We couldn't find a problem".
So I got back and less than a mile from the dealership the truck did it again. Makes me think they didn't even try to find an issue. The vibrations, shuddering and slamming of the gears. Sometimes, it felt like someone had hit you from behind hard. The second time I had it in at Five Star they said, "the transmission is supposed to do that so it protects itself". I told him that was BS. I have never had a vehicle do this and it was normal. Left very angry.
My wife and I were on our way to a conference in San Antonio and the vibrations and gear changes were ridiculous, so I stopped of at a Ford dealership in I believe New Braunfels, Tx. and once again they said they didn't find anything wrong. During this time my truck was under warranty, but nothing was fixed.
I now have over 104,000 miles on it and have endured the vibrations/shuddering and slamming into gear for almost 10 years. A few days ago the NTHSA issues a RECALL on ALL 2011-2013 model F-150's for this same thing. Ford says they can fix it. What the heck!!!! I have put new rotors and brakes, Tires and a new Driveshaft. None of them fixed the problems.
I just bought my wife a new vehicle and it was a Chevy. I will say this will be the last FORD I will ever buy. They lied to me and now that my Ford is out of warranty I can't get it fixed. Thanks alot FORD. Guess what they say is right ; Found On Road Dead". I will never recommend a FORD again.
