Ford's factory remote start sucks. There's many problems with it, let's begin.
1. Remote range makes it almost useless. When you're speed walking towards your truck and you hit the remote start, nothing happens until you can see your vehicle. By the time you stop haulin' ass and get to your vehicle, it has barely started and you might as well just have started it when you got there.
2. Hood switch is mounted on a plate that's flimsier than Miley Cyrus at the VMA awards - It's mounted on a 90 degree piece of thin ass metal that bends very easily (not Miley, the hood switch). So about every second time you try to start the truck via remote start it fails because the hood switch is bent too far down to recognize that the hood is closed. It's a pain in the arse, and the only way to make sure it works all the time is to weld a cross brace on the end of the 90 degree metal plate reinforcing it, or just bypass the hood switch altogether. Kinda a crappy design on Ford's end.
