The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle unintendedly downshifted to first gear. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift out of first gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic retrieved a fault code for a failure with the output speed sensor. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
