For some time I have been hearing some odd sounds coming from the front end of the truck. Recently due to a lot of snow falling in Minnesota I have been using my 4x4, I have noticed that it takes my truck about 50 feet of travel while in gear for the 4x4 to kick in, during this time my truck jumps and makes odd sounds. I have noticed some grinding sounds while turning the wheels as well. When I turn the 4x4 off, the system shows that I am out of 4x4 yet once again, it takes a while to transfer back to 2x4, and also during this time I hear more grinding and odd sounds. I fear sooner or later my 4x4 will go out. This is one of 5 issues I currently have with this 2011.

The truck was stuck trying to engage between 4x4 and 4x2 mode, There was a grinding noise from the from passenger side. If you switch to 4x4 mode, the problem dissapears. The actuator was the problem.

The story is simple, my internet friends. Start slipping in 2WD and stop, engage 4HI and roll forward 10 feet or so then try to accelerate. I get a "click, click, click" over and over and the front hubs don't engage. It took me 20 minutes to finally get the hubs to engage when I was pulling my friend's car out of the ditch. I paid for an FX4 model, not an FX "meh, maybe in a while" 4.

I got stuck on a hill and a guy in a Dodge came by to ask if I needed help. A DODGE?? I told him that I would just reverse down the hill and take a run at it. I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't cause his dashboard to crack more, or have the ball joints come rocketing out from the front end. All kidding aside, it's embarrassing. I need a 4x4, and I need it now. Fix dis, Ford.
