F-150 XLT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,500 miles

What a piece of junk! A truck with 35k miles and the support bearing on the drive shaft goes out = poor workmanship. Then, the only fix is to replace the entire drive shaft = poor engineering. Ford, you fail at both!

F-150 King Ranch 5.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,000 miles

The vibration is starting from a dead stop and goes away within 100 feet. Can also be felt just before coming to a stop. Ford says it's related to the angle of the drive shaft. Or in Ford's words "driveline windup". They've shimmed the leaf springs. and changed them twice. The last ones being updated 2012 springs. And they've changed a transmission mount. Each time the vibration goes away for a short time, but always comes back. Since they haven't been able to find a similar truck without the problem, they've washed their hands of the problem by claiming it's "Characteristic" of the vehicle and an "acceptable vibration". It's not acceptable to me. I understand Ford is changing the drive shaft from a one piece to a two piece in 2013. That's for a Supercrew with a 6 1/2 foot box.

F-150 Lariat 5.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,000 miles

Bought truck new, 2011 f-150 5.0,had 6,000 wonderful smooth miles, then started feeling surge/hesitation/vibration from car, appeared to be transmission, accelerating or holding throttle steady.Took to dealer, they brought in engineer/trans expert to evaluate,he said it was same problem they all have ,therefore, it is considered "normal",i have read MANY reports of others having same problem with similar help from FMC,the few that have gotten something done have waited weeks for their transmissions to be repaired because it seems that this trans that has no problems has so many that the parts are on backlog.I had a call today from a customer service ,ya right, rep ,she says different trucks drive differently, i am sure her many years of actually working on trucks has taught her that BS.People have said that they have had drive shafts changed, rear ends changed, the best hope appears to be TSB 11-11-11 where they change three solenoids in trans.Forth Super Crew, worst one by far.

want it fix. want what i payed for. a smooth riding truck

Update from Feb 23, 2012: vibration on 150 pickup truck 2011 was looked at again by the ford dealer. was test driven again. balanced the tires again, plus turn the drive shaft 180 degrees. that made the problem 50 percent worse. so ford is going to replace the drive shaft and seal going into the transfer case. we are still waiting for parts. it has been less than a week so far.

F-150 XLT 5.0L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,243 miles

I have had tires re-balanced, replaced...did not work, I put on brand new winter tires and rims, made it worse, Ford Is incapable of fixing the problem, I am going to sue them for the price of the truck....sounds like this problem has been around a while....its amazing they continue to sell this know fault in their trucks, I was led to believe that this company was leading edge....what a load of _. I hope people stop buying their product and close their doors....customers make them and customers can break them....quality is job 1 ....whatever...words are cheap, so are their vehicles.

Update from Feb 17, 2013: I fixed the problem on my own with my own money and asked ford if they were willing to reimburse me. they would not acknowledge my progress, and replied they would not repond on this issue again.

F-150 XLT V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 130 miles

The first day of purchased I noticed the vibration in the pass. seat, console, gas petal and drivers door. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY. Several trips back ,three sets of tires and the problem continued. This vehicle rides worse than my 95 GMC Sierra. The dealership personnel have been very helpful in trying to resolve the problem but they reached a point whereas they had to take further problems to the Ford Rep/engineer. Now the Ford engineer is saying thats the way the F150 is supposed to ride. I was thinking B/S, if that the way he feels about his product thats not a good recommendation. I am sorry I purchased the F150.
