  • 156,000 miles
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving 50 mph, the contact noticed that the engine rpms began to change and the vehicle automatically downshifted into first gear. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road. When the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, it operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (bill hood Ford Lincoln, 1500 N morrison blvd, hammond, la 70401) where it was diagnosed that the failure was caused by the lead frame, which had an extended warranty for up to 150,000 miles. The contact was unable to receive the repair due to the vehicle having 156,000 miles. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact of the same information as the dealer. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V248000 (power train). The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 156,000.

I have been having transmission issues. I took my car in while it was under warranty and they said there was a warranty and that would fix my problem. Since my issue at the time was spuratic I left the dealer thinking it was fine. The last time I made an appointment for the dealer and I brought it in and they said again that there was a recall and they fixed that and they said there was no time for the repair and to bring it in again at a later date and they were booked far out in the future. When I brought it back I am now not covered under my warranty by time not miles. My car downshifts and I hear a thunk when coming to a stop and it down shifts no matter what speed. I see there is another recall that had my symptoms for my year and model but they said that my car is not in that recall.

Truck has a timing chain rattle and has had the same rattle for 28,000 miles, since I've owned the truck. It only happens when the truck has been sitting for an extended period. The rattle lasts from 2-10 seconds. I have videos of it happening in my driveway, after a cold start. Dealer refuses to fix it because it doesn't happen after I drive it to them and they start it. Tsb-14-0194, tsb 16-0027, tsb- 15-0131. All 3 tsbs have the same results. I have shown the dealer my videos nd the service advisor told me "no problem we can get it fixed", only to find out he dealer refuses to fix it until they can get the truck to do it for them, under their care. The tsb states that if the owner hears the rattle the dealer is to fix it.

The speed odometer jumps around and the gears change sporadically. After having this check by my mechanic, they feel that it is the power train control module and speed sensor. They found a recall for this model F150 but it did not include the date of build on my vehicle. Recall 16S19. It is dangerous because you don't have any notice as to when it might act up and you loose power without any warning. It happens when driving on whywayans side streets, high and low speeds. It feels as if the gear is dropped from 5th to 1st and back.

My 2011 Ford F-150 pick-up is shifting very hard from 1st gear to 2nd gear. The hard shift causes my pick-up to lurch forward abruptly. It also shifts hard some of the time when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear. I took my pick-up to our local Ford dealer, and they recommended a transmission update for $100 not covered by the extended warranty.

While driving on the interstate at 70 mph my speed information screen showed the wrench and the transmission down shifted to a lower gear. I had to pull off the interstate and restart the vehicle after waiting a few minutes. After I restarted the vehicle the check engine light and wrench went out. Subsequent problems have been the transmission will not shift out of gear and the information screen shows the wrench. My local mechanic said the following P codes were present, P0720 and P0722 and advised there was a recall for my specific transmission. When I called Ford they said that even though my transmission was experiencing the same problems as those under recall my specific transmission was not on the recall list.

We recieved a recall for it( 16S19) had the recall preformed on Feb 27 2018 and 4 days later it started doing the exact same thing.

When driving, usually between 20-30 mph, my transmission will abruptly switch gears. When this happens, it is very loud and violently jerks the entire vehicle. This has been happening randomly since I purchased the truck in 2012 w/ roughly 9K miles on it. It feels like I have been rear-ended by another vehicle. On two separate occasions, I have had two different people in my truck (unfamiliar with the issue), and when it happened, they instantly asked, 'did we just get rear-ended?'
