On 11/25/17 I was travelling on the highway at approximately 65 mph and the truck started bucking and downshifting. I was able to safely pull off at the next exit and park the truck and had to have it towed to a trusted repair shop. The truck was still bucking fairly violently even at slow speeds while I was trying to park it. The truck would also not shift into reverse. Repairs were performed and a transmission shift solenoid and harness was found to be faulty.

While driving in normal conditions at a constant speed the speedometer will start jumping around and the truck will downshift to match the lower speeds. I was traveling at 65mph on the highway and the truck downshifted greatly reducing my speed causing the vehicle following me to swerve to avoid a collision. Occasionally when taking off from a start the truck will immediately shift to 5th gear losing all acceleration. If I shut the vehicle off and restart it immediately the problem will usually go away.

Molded lead-frame recall (16N02). The output from the output speed sensor (oss) is intermittent. However, it is rarely out long enough for the computer to recognize a problem.the computer requires a loss of this signal for a full 15sec before it will throw a code. Otherwise it will just continue to register the last registered speed. The result of the loss of the oss is very hard shifting while pulling out into traffic and sometimes total loss of any gears. This problem happens several time in a day while driving in town. This has made in-town driving very dangerous. The loss of the oss in straight stretches is usually not noticeable unless driving with the cruse control on. While on cruse, there will be a momentary loss of speed regulation which will resume in a few seconds when the oss resumes opperation. The Ford dealer will not fix this under the recall because they say they can't find any codes in the computer. We just picked up the truck from the dealer service department on 12/27/2017 with no problems found or repairs done. The truck acted up four times on the way back home that day. But again, no codes were generated. Finding a code should not be the only provision to fixing this very dangerous problem.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While the vehicle was stopped, it jolted. While driving unknown speeds, the transmission slipped when engaging into gears. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (penske Ford, 8970 la mesa blvd, la mesa, ca 91942) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be reset. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and stated that the vehicle was not included in any recall. The failure mileage was 36,000.

NHTSA campaign #16V248000.... while driving on the highway, the transmission abruptly downshifts. The rpms will then begin fluctuating up and down causing the vehicle to shudder and lurch. The transmission then begins to slip around. The indicator shows it bouncing from 2 to 6 to 1. I took it to a shop and they hooked it up to check the sensors and it came back that the solenoids were stuck. They reset the sensors, but the symptoms began again not more than 2 miles down the road.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 40 mph, the transmission dropped from the fifth to the first gear. Also, the speedometer moved erratically and was unable to register the exact speed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that there was a loss of communication in the speed sensors. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer was contacted (performance Ford in tooele, ut, 888-625-0136), but the technician was unable to explain why the vehicle was not included in a recall. The manufacturer stated that there was no recall and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.

Not sure of name but send info from transmission so it will start. Lets ignition know vehicle is in park so it will start. My dealer tells me Ford has over 4,000 on back order so it may be a while before my truck gets fixed. They have already had it for a few weeks and this is the second time in a month. I am paying $500 a month for something I can not drive due to manufacturer part defective or on back order.

The transmission started acting up and not shifting correctly while driving on the highway. The service lights on the dash came on and the truck went into limp mode. The truck has been to the dealer, and they stated it was a faulty molded lead frame. It seems there was already a recall involving this part, and Ford initiated customer satisfaction program 16N02. However all parties have stated that my truck is not covered under this recall, despite it being the same problem with the molded lead frame. I'm hoping that eventually this recall is expanded as this is a major safety issue.

While driving the vehicle around 45 to 50 mph the vehicle started skidding. The brakes were not applied when this happened the vehicle just started skidding on its own. The vehicle sounded like the transmission was coming apart. I contacted Ford and told them about the issue and they said there were no recalls on the vehicle. I told them the this was a safety issue and that my wife has back problems and that when the vehicle started skidding it jerked us forward. If there would have been vehicles behind us or if we were going thru an intersection this could have caused a serious accident. They told me Ford was not responsible and that I should take the vehicle in and have it serviced. We were driving on a highway when this occured.

I am having a safety issue with my vehicle. When I place the shifter into reverse or drive the vehicle does not go. There is a delay until it engages into reverse or drive, the check engine light comes on as well. When you drive there is a hard shift. I did some research and a lot of people are complaining about this. I did check the check engine light codes and the issue is the " transmission range sensor". I am afraid that while I am driving it will disengage from drive and put my life in danger.

Driving 4-lane highway, truck suddenly shifts into low gear. Stopped truck, tried to accelerate but would not go. Suddenly went back into a low gear so I was able to get the truck off the highway. Thankfully no one was behind me or there would have been an accident. I called my local Ford dealer, and although there was a recall for the same problem happening with other Ford F-150 trucks, my VIN was not on the recall list. Should it be?

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving various speeds, when the gear was shifted, the vehicle began to jerk forward. While the accelerator pedal was depressed, the speed failed to increase. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (gullo Ford of conroe- the woodlands, 925 interstate 45 S, conroe, tx 77301), but was not diagnosed due to diagnostic fees. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16V248000 (power train), but the VIN tool indicated there were no recalls associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

When trying to shift into reverse the dash light will not illuminate, will not shift into reverse, and maintenance wrench light comes on. I am able to shift into neutral, drive, and any other gear with dash illumination and operate the vehicle. Reverse will not shift and after multiple tries it finally takes and "jolts" backwards without warning and allows me to backup. However dash light never changes and am unsure when it will shift. I am told by the dealership that it is a malfunctioning "transmission range sensor". my vehicle matches the make, model, and year of an active recall: #12V190000 however I am informed by the local Ford dealership that my VIN number does not match the recall list in oasis? and therefore is not covered by Ford. I have had no issues with my vehicle up until this point and cannot believe that Ford is refusing to cover this obvious safety hazard.

I'm having problem with the output speed sensor on the vehicle's transmission. It has cause the transmission to force a temporary downshift into 1st gear. At the time of the downshift, my vehicle experienced an abrupt speed reduction that cause the rear tires to slide and loss of vehicle control. Ford has recalled some of the F150's but has left others like mine with the same issue out of the recall.

2011 Ford F-150 XLT supercrew 4X2. I was operating the vehicle in normal conditions earlier this week and noticed that the vehicle was not accelerating after pushing on the gas pedal. I had noticed this very intermittently over the past several months, but this issue was constant. There were no warning indicators, but when attempting to accelerate the pu seemed to be operating at about 30-40% of the expected performance level. I took into the Ford service dealer, northside Ford, and they mentioned it might be the PCM but they needed to start by replacing the O2 downstream sensor. They replaced the O2 downstream sensor and re-tested and it them indicated that the PCM needed to be replaced. The vehicle only has 112,500 miles so it seems odd that there was a recall (12V190000) but my vehicle was not included and it seems to be exhibiting similar problems. I would like to see if someone can look into the issue as I believe it has a similarities to the previous recalls.

I took my F-150 in for the same exact symptoms of recall #16S19. They replaced the same exact part required to remedy the outstanding recall, but my VIN was not covered. This recall needs to be expanded to cover further VIN's since it is a larger issue than currently reported.
